Default Torque converter bolts

I have read a couple post that said that you should use new TC bolts due to the stockers being a pain in the ***. Where can I get some, I have looked around and cant find them <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

you talking about the bolts that hold the converter to the flex plate?? anyways reusing the stock bolts is just fine. perhaps some lock tite would put you mind at ease if you are worried about them coming loose, but its not a big deal.

yeah that is what I was talking about... I was not worried about reusing them. I just heard that some people have problems geting them out... and end up striping the allen wrench part of the bolt.

Mine were a bitch to break loose. Got a few busted knuckles in the process. My stall came with new bolts, so I used those. The stock ones were too long.

You can reuse your stock ones. I reused mine with my 2800 vig but Vig sent me some new ones with my 3600. Just add some lock tight and you will be ok.

Just a little FYI I noticed in passing on the stock Allen head bolts - they are 8mm Metric...and most of us have 5/16 SAE Allen bits which just so happens to be a shade smaller. Usually of course we get away with the Metric/SAE mismatch, but these bolts are a case where getting the correct 8mm bit helps to keep from stripping them....
