LOL HELL NO! I have a friend that went from a TCI 3500 stall to a smaller Yank 3000 stall and he picked up 2 tenths. Its not so much at the track where you can see how good the yank is, it's cruising around town and on the hwy where yanks are so bad ***. It can fell like stock but as soon as you lay into its all good! I also have a friend that went from a TCI 3800 to a yank ss3600 and he said it drives around 100 times better then the TCI did! He also said he picked up MPG too and the TCI was always slipping and the yank locks up alot more.

From what I've read Yanks stall are true to form as advertised. I know Vigilante's stalls are higher than advertised. You can't go wrong with either.
Which stall size you going with? What are your mods? What are your goals for the car? Maybe we can help point you in the right direction

Guys the whole issue regarding Converter stall speeds is that a converters ability to lock the stator at a given rpm is directly related to the amount of energy being put into it.
Example....
A converter is targeted for a 3000 rpm stall behind a 500 h/p engine. It operates as designed when installed.
Now, take that same converter and install it behind an engine that makes 800 h/p. It will stall significantly higher.
Put it behind a 200 h/p engine and it might not ever stall, in fact it might be so tight the engine will not idle.
This is the reason many, many converter manufacturers will restall a converter at no cost at least one time. 9 times out of 10 when dealing with similar combinations the converter manufacturers can and do get the stall speed correct. But, again, it is not uncommon to see a converter need to be restalled in a given combination.
Hope that helps...

If your searching for a converter and looking for advice, I would try giving Chris at Circle D a call it's what I have in my car, There is nothing wrong with yank I just picked Circle D for my car.

the Circle D hits WAY harder when you stomp the gas and just feels better....also locks up so tight it almost feels like it's shifting gears.....nothing against Yank i know many who have had good luck with them but I am not one

that's weird to hear someone not having good luck w/ Yank. I driven a couple of TCI converters and 1 Vig and i had ppl drive mine and they love the way it drives compared to their converters. As for performance look at my sig. I can't to see what it'll run w/ my new setup.
