Tranny problems
Okay i have this problem where it does not occur driving in town or city, only when I drive on the highway for a half hour to the next city i drive too. Anyways I will come to a stop in the next city and the car will not roll in drive, foot off brake, if i press the gas it does not hit the rev limiter but barly rolls. Almost like letting out the clutch on a manual more gas and slowly letting out the clutch with rpms higher up. But if I put it into park and I usually revv it a couple times then put back into drive it works perfect, it rolls forward and I have too use the brake to keep in still.
i have no clue so any suggestions will be great
Thanks

Also, have you checked the fluid level? Are there any leaks?

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Hey bubba, I've been off doing other things in the racing world but have always had my eye on coming back as a Sponsor. I am quite surprised to see this old thread to say the least. Obviously I had to go back and reread it all in order to understand it.
How often does this happen? What has been done to the car since it first started showing symptoms?
Don't hesitate to call me tomorrow in order to discuss it in detail!

I bought the car in 05 and never did much. Optispark went south so I did that. I did wires plugs battery headers normal maitence stuff. The very first time this happened back in my first post in 08 was when I blew up the rear and fixed it and changed the gears. I had to get the pcm tuned for the speedo. After that it did this. But I did have the pcm tuned from madz28 before and this never happened so the second time he did it for the speedo fix I can't see it being the pcm tune. So I have no clue.
Thanks for your help
So, the first thing to do is to try to duplicate the condition with a scanner of some sort on it. The goal is to determine if the issue is being commanded or not. If we can determine that, we can move on.
What part of the country are you in?

Yah this is definetly been forever. Obviously not mechanical cause sumthing should have broken by now. Elctrical glitch I'm assuming. Also one thing I didn't mentioned is I can drive around the city for hours driving 30 mph and it will never do it. So it definetly on the highway going 65 mph is when it will make it screw up when I stop.
Thanks for help. Greatly appreciated
Get that scanner on it and lets see what we can find. You're looking to see what gear is being commanded vs what the transmission pressure switch manifold is reporting.

Thanks
