3.73s and auto tranny question

if i installed 3.73s wit my suto tranny, would it throw anything else off besides the speedometer? would it still shift normal?

Yes it would affect shift points etc The PCM would see the wrong RPM to speed ratio and become confused

yes i hav ABS. would it run like crap if the shift points arent programmed?

No...u wouldnt really notice the shift points unless at WOT.....what i noticed on mine before the tune was that 1st gear would shift at 5500 instead of 6k....But no the car didnt run like crap.

YEs with 3.23's i could roll 70ish and punch it and still catch the top of 2nd gear if im going 65-70 now it stays in 3rd.....1st gear used get up to about 45ish and now im rolling to about 32ish before 1st gear is done with.....also on the highway i see about 2450RPMs going 70 in 4th gear.

so i can still run 3.73s witout a tune and my points would just be off a lil?

yea....u wont notice it during normal daily driving.....another thing is that ur odometer will be off a lil bit too.....i ran mine like that for a year.

COOL!!! getting gears installed really soon! i was just a lil nervous to do it before because of a tune. the tune i want is thru ed wright in tulsa oklahoma. fastchip tuning. its $350. i dont hav that kind of money right now. ive got headers and underdrives in my budget. ive had the 3.73s for over a year and never had them installed
