Shifting Hard
After having my stall put on my car, it's shifting hard through all the gears. It also hits the rev limiter. Does it just need to be tuned or could it be something else.
Are you getting any codes? In some cases a trouble code can make the trans go to max line pressure. This would explain the hard shifts. I would get it scanned and also get think about getting it tuned for the stall ASAP. Vince
I haven't check the codes yet because the light was on for the o2 sensor. I'll go get it checked out. I planned on doing heads and cam soon so I was going to wait on the tune.
Depending on which trans code you are getting you might have to have the code cleared and then have the test deleted for the code. This is not a major thing to have someone do and your trans will thank you! Max line pressure is not going to help your trans. You get the point. Vince

That's weird that you have this condition and it does not throw any codes. Double all check your electrical connections on the transmission. Maybe it is a loose connection. However I would think that it would still throw a code if that were the case. But I would give it a try. Double check to make sure you did not pinch a wire in between the bell and the block. Also make sure all grounds are good an tight. When you installed the converter did it go into the pump pretty easy? This is kind of a long shot but I wonder if maybe something got into the pump slide, PR valve, boost valve and is sticking it. Possibly from the pump bushing. These are mechanical parts that could cause a high line pressure condition and would not throw a code. Also maybe disconnect the battery for a while and see if it resets the computer. Weird one for sure.
I didn't install the converter someone else did it for me. He has did other stalls on other peoples car and never had this promblem. Also I tried unhooking the battery and that didnt work.
Maybe bring it back to the guy and make sure the mount is not loose. Have him double check his work to verify something was not missed. Double check the wiring and if that does not get you fixed up, I would get a gauge on this thing to see where the pressure is at. You might want take this to a trans shop to have that done. I hope you get this figured out without having to go inside the trans. Please let us know what you find. Vince
