I tried searching..didn't find anything...
I don't have a lift, so don't say that! haha..
How high are you guys getting your car off the ground to remove the transmission?
This is the trans jack from Harbor Freight I'll be using.
About 8" tall totally collapsed.

The other pics are to big to load here.
But it needs to clear the highest point of the bellhousing. I got my jack stands at the 2nd to the last setting, and used two pieces of 2x4's that I got nailed together, put that on the jack to lift the car a couple more inches.

I wish I had seen this earlier, just took mine off the stands after finishing it up last night around 2am.
I have the same stands as the first pic of the car with the billet grille. Except I didn't use pavers under mine, I did put them about where he put his.
I used a floor jack with a 8" whatever you call that thing, I put folded towels on that to keep it from denting the pan. The only time I had one slide off is when using a piece of wood.
Problem is, it has to come off the jack to get it out from under the car-easy enough. BUT it also means it has to go back on the jack while under the car, and thats no fun by yourself. Once on the floor it just made it out. With that trans jack, your going to have to roll it out from under the car with it on that jack. Get some tall stands, don't pile stuff under short ones if you can help it.
I wouldn't use pavers under the stands, they break easy.
