Roll Racing

Dumb question....i would rather have a dig, its my only advantage, otherwise i wont race....I dont understand the whole roll race thing...its not like u can go to the track and theres a roll racing section...ITS NOT A REAL DRAG RACE!!!

Because 9 times out of 10 it isn't safe enough to stop and run from a dig. Take what you can get and most of the time roll racing is the easiest way.
I prefer dig runs since you have to be a good driver to run your car to it's true potential but sometimes it isn't possible

ive never had a problem getting a race off from a dig and it was safe

My topend is awesome....that's by far my favorite feature of the PT4400. I had a SS4000 before this, and it was okay on topend, but left a lot to be desired. Not so with the PT series. Yank told me this was the converter to go with if I wanted the best all around NA performance: hits hard from a dig, decently tight for daily driving, and insane from a roll. Of the three converters I've had, I'd say they nailed it with the PT series. They recommended the PT4000, but I always said if I did the PT series, it'd be the 4400.....I'll never look back.
As far as spray, not good with the PT4400, it's too loose and will blow right through. I've heard of some doing it with the PT4000 with some success, but I've heard the PT3800 is the one to use if you want PT performance and want to spray as well.

Actually, while the PT4400 is certainly looser than the SS4000, it wasn't really a huge difference. I'd guess a max of 500 RPM's more to accelerate at most. I don't miss the SS4000 in any way if that tells you anything . You thinking about getting a PT?

well if your on the highway most of the time a roll race is the only thing you can get off. I normally dont put my window down and tell the car that just got up beside me to stop lol. I dont care for roll racing too much either but sometimes you have no choice.
Roll racing is like masterbating, no matter how good you are at it, its never like the real thing.

one of the most helpful items for roll racing an auto is good trans tuning; even if it's mail order. Getting rid of tq management, upping downshift MPHs and more will play a big role.

cant go wrong with either...

Cut me some slack....I was full weight, 3/4 tank gas and Bilstein suspension. Not sure if it hurt me or not, but I don't imagine it helped me. I was pretty happy with my short time. I'm working on getting where you are though. Your car has impressed me from day one .

yeah honestly that is a good 60ft for the mph...i did not look at that first...i was high 1.57-9 with my stock internal but i was trapping 115-116 so you 60ft is about right on...i was just giving you **** bud

Honestly, if I ever get a stall - and I'm sure I eventually will someday - I'm probably too much of a sissy to drive a 4400 stall. I HATE looseness. Absolutely hate it. I like being able to blip the throttle an inch and send the rpm's up by 500 and feel the car jerk instantly. That's what it's like with full bolt-ons, 3.42's and a stock stall. I don't want to lose that feeling
Maybe one day I'll turn this car into a strict track ****. Then it'll be the day I get something like that. No way in hell for a DD though

I find it just as enjoyable, if not more enjoyable, than racing from a stop. I like roll racing because it tests the true potential of the car. If you screw up and lose traction on a launch, you can easily be beaten by an inferior car. I also like the kick in the *** you get from roll racing, too. You don't get thrown back in your seat from a big downshift racing from a stop.
