Default How do you get the speedo to work with a Turbo 400?

Just got my car back from M6 - TH-400 swap, and the speedo doesn't work, what's the cheapest way to get it to work, cuz I need the speedo on, so the odometer works, so I know when to change my oil and other stuff! Thanks in advance for any help!

PS - How much is the speedo sensor thing if you just buy it from Yank? Is it worth it, or is there a cheaper and better way to do it?

Take a look at this post. I go over all the parts you need to do the speedo conversion. https://ls1tech.com/threads/showflat...14&fpart=1

You have to go in and replace the speedo setup with this stuff. In all it will probably cost you about 150 bucks or so for the parts. Yes you will need to open up the tranny, maybe a good dealership or a call to Rossler Transmissions would be a good start for how to do it.

The only part of the tranny that needs to be opened up is the tailshaft needs to be removed, the reluctor rings nees to be replaced with the new one. NMot a big deal really.

It should be the same parts for the 350 as well. It's basically a small gear that goes in the tranny to generate the pulses. Then there is a sensor that bolts into the side of the tranny. The last part number is the wiring connector that you splice into the factory harness. As long as the sensor and reluctor ring fits you should be in business.

Ok, thanks for all the help guys!!!! Just curious, got a quick question, is that ring that you list the part number for the correct one for swapping from T-56 to Turbo 400, like will it be accurate, or is the speed gonna be off and will tire size have to be messed with through ls1 edit to correct it, if so, is there a diff part number I could use to get it right on? Thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it!

Nope, it's going to be off by 2.5 times. Just take the tire dimension and multiply it by that much. Then work with a gearing calculator and RPM to determine your MPH. Go out and calibrate it on the street to dial it in. 3000 RPM in 3rd is a pretty good way to dial it in.
