Redesigned Dodge Charger Previewed in Fiat Presentation (among other things)
This redesign has been underway for awhile now but Chrysler has been good at keeping it completely under wraps (no leaks, spyshots, etc). It was previewed somewhat during the presentation about Chrysler's future.
2011 Dodge Charger
1999 Dodge Charger concept
2011 Dodge Charger gauge cluster
The new Charger looks very similar to the 1999 concept and it's due to be released soon along with a redesigned Chrysler 300. The Challenger will recieve the new interior and similar upgrades as well.
And Fiat's current product plan for Dodge (subject to change).
Only 500 more Vipers will be produced. There are no firm plans to offer a new Viper or replacement. The Challenger will become Dodge's halo performance car.

The Fiat 500 was confirmed for North America. Select Chrysler dealers will establish little Fiat sections of their showrooms for it and emphasize personalization of the car. The standard four cylinder and turbo model will be sold. No diesel. It will be assembled by Chrysler in Mexico.

Chrysler has called their trucks and vans RAM for a long time. Now RAM will become it's own brand under Dodge, officially, with it's own CEO and marketing support.
The Ram's head logo will be removed from Dodge cars and replaced by the word Dodge instead but will remain on all heavy-duty truck and van products. A Fiat tall delivery van (IVECO) will likely replace the Mercedes-sourced Sprinter. Other heavy Fiat Group trucks may find their way to the US under the RAM name.

If the Charger looks like that in years to come, I will surely own one. The G8 was nice, too bad Pontiac was axed right afterwards. Plain and simple, GM needs to bring back the Chevelle. If GM said they were going to bring back the Chevelle, I would wait for it. I've always loved Chevelles and so does everybody I know. Only one exception, if the Chevelle was to come out again, it would have to be RWD. Not like what they did with the ending years of the Monte Carlo. That's the only reason why I didn't buy a LS4 Impala or Monte Carlo.

The new charger has already been displayed. Since the company went through so much trouble financially, they're not redesigning it. They're taking out the "hips" and making the fenders more flat.

i think its looking better for sure, but come on, lose the 4 doors already. jeez, even in the 80s when the charger was a fwd 4cyl it had 2 doors. i dont like the idea of them trying to appeal to a 'family' like car with the 4 doors, the charger should have never been made with 4 doors, i think they shoulda called it an intrepid....hmmm.....

Nah one was the Impala Caprice, the Impala name alone was stuck onto the 2 door models. For example they also offered a 4 door LeMans and a 2 door GTO, but the world would have come unhinged if the modern Goat was a 4 door.

Let's see: I have owned two 4 door Impala's, two 2 door Impala's (in 1978 and 1981), and one Impala station wagon. The Impala's were originially the base model with the Caprice Classic being the upscale trim package. That changed from 94-96 when they swapped it around the other day.
