Very cool videos, but man those 1/4 and 0-60 guys can't drive. That poor '550 HP' Viper ran slower than my stock 450HP Viper, lol.

The Formula freakin' rolled out, that was impressive.

I'm certainly not a teenager, but I do remember these models and IMO they are very retro compared to what's out there today. Retro simply means something from an earlier time....like 13 years ago.

They used a GT instead of a Cobra... why? I mean they used the top of the line Vette/Camaro at the time.

Odd.

very cool find enjoyed it and yeah those 351 saleens were cool and very expensive. That lingenfelter made me want to go to edelbrock/lingenfelter and empty my wallet. Wow can't bet a black firebird with those fm5s even in 96 it was known to be bad ***.

Lol R&T can't even keep up with the other magazines on their track times.

If you read the second page of the above link they got a 13.9 with the LS1 in 2001.

The main issues with magazine strip times is they don't take them to a drag strip. They usually just hook up the equipment and run them down some unpreped strip of pavement. They look more like a rolling burn out contest then any thing else.

True but Road and Track ALWAYS has the slowest times. Would be surprised if they got an Enzo below a 12 second slip.

I enjoyed that, but I feel even without F1 experience, I could pilot those cars to better times. Far too much wheelspin in some of those 0-60s

The Lingenfelter Firebird impressed me with its top speed. That's really good for that car, I figured the top notch Vette would be the fastest.
