2011 Shelby GT350
Already supercharging the OHC 5.0 . Kinda pricey though.

This new 5.0 sounds very promising for ford.

They're only running 5 to 6 lbs of boost and a conservative tune. But supposedly its making over 500 at the crank (don't think actual numbers have been released yet). Sounded promising, but stats I've heard put it at or just below the weight of the GT500 (blower + heavy bodykit + big chrome rims). So it probably won't outperform the big dog Mustang. The body work seems to be love it or hate with most ppl thus far. I think it'd look fine if the bodykit weren't so low profile (close to the ground) and the wheels were smaller than 20".
So, yea......another really expensive collector's car. IMO, they should have kept it NA and did a full CF and fiberglass body for the car. Forget about getting it over the 500 hp mark and just concentrate on making it the best damn handling Mustang one can buy off the lot. That's what the original GT350's were about. They weren't dyno queens.

Too much. And confusing as well.......since Saleen Inc is no longer headed by Steve Saleen...........who now owns SMS.........which is now putting out its own "Saleen" Mustangs (and Challengers and Camaros). So now when you talk about Saleens, you could possibly be talking about two different cars from two different companies.

I just want to know what other stupidly priced under performers will be available.

This looks way better then just the regular GT in my opinion. the body kit is smooth and just looks like the car was originally designed that way. They really make the back of the trunk look great too.
The HP number is quite low compared to what the GT500s were putting up. Boost is obviously way lower but still, for that price tag? I mean, to me it looks better, but meh. Not worth that much.

If this were built at a Ford factory and priced in the upper 30's (which would be perfectly doable), it'd be something to behold. But as it has to pass thru a third party's hands to get done, it is all but unaffordable to all but the rich collectors. The bodystyling has some potential...it just needs to be tweaked and toned down in a few areas.
I see now why Ford took over the building of the Shelby Mustangs back in the late 60's. Consider that a brand new GT350 or GT500 actually cost twice what a typically optioned GT did back in those days (4k+ vs 2K+).....I guess we really can't be so blown away that the newer Shelby built rides cost double what a current model GT does. The look of the classics isn't the only thing they're recreating.

I like the way it looks. Quite a bit.
I'm also excited about the new '11 5.0 Mustang. I love their brick red interior. Would love to have a white/red stripe/red leather version, but it would have to be a few thousand less than the Camaro for me to buy. It won't be with the must-have options, so no '11 Mustang for me.

The GT500 from what Im gathering in the ford forums is getting ready to be given more HP, somewhere in the 600 region. You have to remember that the GT350 is a Shelby car and will be getting extensive suspension mods including the supercharger. Is it worth the $60K + ??? I have to say, Mustang has the win in the interior category when compared to Camaro and Challenger models
