Ok so now we have to put conditions on it. Gotcha.

If you ask me, "affordable" is under $30k. That includes the GT and Z28 and excludes the Cobra. See what happens when you put conditions on it?

Nice to see that brand loyal dick waving doesn't ever go out of style, no matter how well matched Chevy's and Ford's pony cars have become.

God bless American muscle, and...

The fact of the matter is the 2003 Mustang Cobra is still the best performing mass produced affordable pony car that has come out. I would have said GT500 but that thing comes with a hefty price tag.
I'm still unsure why you are comparing a car that was not intended competition for the camaro in the first place. RPM WS6 literally only said Mustang GTs, i.e. the Camaro's direct competition. No **** a cobra was faster than both cars, it had substantially more horsepower and cost of entry to get into one of those cars was higher as well.

Consonant sound gets the indefinite article a; vowel sound gets an.

True...if it's $33k+ MSRP price tag were to actually be considered affordable (remember this was 7-8 years ago) that is.
Then again, a loaded Trans Am WS6 wasn't cheap either...though we were comparing only base Z28s (roughly $23k to start) earlier.

And in all fairness, the 2003/2004 Cobra came with a hefty price tag as well, once again depending on one's perception.
Theoretically speaking, the MSRP of the current GT500 is probably not much more than the MSRP on the 2003/2004 Cobra, adjusted for inflation/cost of living and all.

Oh I agree that the price tag was pretty high. So were the fully loaded SS's and WS6's. It definitely wasn't the cheapest to buy.

Sax...how many GM car related websites are you a member of? I see you on camaro5 a lot also.

Are you on a mission to get respect for mustangs across the internet?

Man those camaro5 moderators are out of control. I have been warned 4 times for basically getting into minor arguments (that I didnt even start half the time). I didnt swear at anyone or make any personal attacks etc. This last warning I got I really cant figure out why I got it. I am getting sick of that website anyway. It is over run with mustang trolling and non-enthusiast camaro drivers.

Honestly I only talk on GM sites. I don't like other Ford people to much.

Only reason I went to Camaro5 was because I was given a link to a thread that said the LS3 was tested at 10k rpm for 24 hours and was rated to be used in aircraft. I had to go and call the BS on that one. I have yet to receive a warning at Camaro5, which is very surprising since I am a ford guy.

Also I joined these sites because I had A LOT of respect for the LS1 f-bods. I wanted to learn more about them. But yes when I joined I had a 5.0 that I raced so it was good for some fun rivalry type deals. I am always down for a good clean argument.
