Kevin, plz dont turn this into another you against the world.

Press Release
FASTLANE FIRST TO TURBO-CHARGE NEW MUSTANG 5.0

Houston-Based Tuner Adds 120 Ponies to Ford’s Vaunted Pony Car

Houston, TX (July 2010)—Using the proven reliable technology of Borg Warner’s 72mm S400 Turbo, Fastlane has tackled the new 5.0 Mustang GT and has developed the ultimate Turbo System. Having already proven their turbo system savvy in the 2010 Camaro SS, Fastlane wanted to be the first aftermarket manufacturer and tuning shop to boost the new Mustang GT.

Fastlane’s new Ford Mustang GT Turbo package will conservatively produce a blistering 530+ RWHP and 500 RWTQ on the six-speed model with only six-seven psi boost.

“Fastlane was founded on modifying Mustangs,” says Nick Field, Co-Owner of Fastlane. “We’ve gone back to our roots with this turbo package and have made the new Mustang GT even more significant.”

The Fastlane Turbo Package for the 2010 Mustang GT features the following:

* Low boost – 6-7psi
* At least 120 additional RWHP
* Designed for stock engines
* Quiet, reliable operation with big block power
* 72mm Borg Warner extended tip turbo, front mount air to air bar and plate style intercooler
* 304 stainless steel tubing, which is mandrel bent for great flow (This kit boasts direct bolt-on with no cutting or modifications needed).
* On a conservative streetable tune of 6-7 psi, this kit produces at least 530RWHP and 500 RWTQ

Beyond the remarkable turbo system, Fastlane’s R&D department has developed additional go-fast performance items, raising the 360 hp at the wheels to the following:

* Long Tube Headers: 390 hp
* Add 3” Exhaust: 401 hp
* Add Cold Air Intake: 412 hp

Pretty sweet. I wonder what it'd do with the boost turned up.

Awesome, FastLane is local to me here in Houston. I've met Nick at the track and he was genuinely excited about the 5.0 liters. Also his predictions on how these things would perform were pretty much dead on the money.

I assume that's a typo? They're saying that it's for the new 5.0 but then they say 2010 GT.

Either way it's pretty cool.

This comment would work if people hadn't been saying it was maxed out NA and would need boost to go much further. (Turbos make boost, btw.)

Either way the "maxed out" crowd disappeared when the first vids of modded 2011s started popping up.

The existence of a turbo kit does not prove one way or another the moddability of a particular motor.

Also, I have not noticed the same phenomenon you speak of.

Nice, looks like FastLane is first to market. Things should get real interesting when they do forged internals and bump up the boost.

...and drop the compression ratio. Think about that though...now you have a car with a built engine and a turbo kit. It better make some nice power.

I would imagine that it's going to be just a TAD BIT PRICIER though.

I'll be very surprised if the new 5.0 can match the Terminator motor for hp/dollar, even after adjusting for the 8 year difference in prices.

I think he was talking more about how much better the 5.0 heads/cams/intake is than the '03-'04 Cobra setup.

my 96 DOHC 4v turbo makes about 400rwhp at 6 psi. 45lbs/minute. 530rwhp at 6 psi is about 57lbs per minute roughly at .5 bsfc. they did say it was tuned conservative so it might be 60 lb/minute and .45 bsfc.

that is a hell of a lot of flow for 6 psi.

my heads on the 96 DOHC 4v are ported and have frpp stainless racing valves. the coyote murders mine. my compression is 8.5:1, as i have termi internals/teksid block.

Quick Reply: new 5.0 turbo kit. 530rwhp
