Now these new photos are much better than the ones we previously posted! This Camaro Z28 was captured out testing with several other Camaros, as well as a Mustang GT500 (for comparison of course).
Seen prominently, even with the front covering is a much lower front fascia with large intakes. You can make out the shape despite the covering and it resembles the latest Transformers 3 Bumblebee Camaro front fascia. The hood cowl also looks to be more prominent than on standard Camaro.
The wheels are 20" SP550 anodized black - 20x10 front and 20x11 rears. Wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. The brake calipers very much resemble those from the CTS-V.
Quad exhaust (dual pipes per side) are at the rear, and the photographer described the sound from this car as "nothing short of unholy!"
Best part is, GM was courteous enough to tape the engine specs on the dash: 6.2L supercharged V8, with Auto Transmission.

Thank God it's an auto! I was worried they'd do some M6 only bullshit like what Ford pulled in '03/'04. Had Ford offered an S/C Cobra with an auto, I would have bought it.
I might regain interest in these 5th gens after all.

I was thinking the same thing about the automatic trans. I'll be due for another car in 2012. I'm curious to see the specs on this car.

Why the hell did they put camo on it??? Worried it wasn't going to draw any camera lenses while driving out and about?
Really curious to see what the curb weight on this car will be. Wonder if they're doing any CF body work on it.

hahaha Just because this one has an auto doesnt mean they wont offer a manual, just like the CTS-v has both transmission choices.
Either way i wonder what it will be called, Z28 is a possibility but the current ZR1 was also the "blue devil" for a LONG time.

Test car, remember the one we saw earlier in the year on a track had wide body panels and a raised hood, not we see a new front bumper and rear exhaust so put all that together could be sexy.
Anyone else notice the 4 gauges under the radio are now gone??

But honestly, I don't see the Z getting the LS9. Corvette owners' fragile egos are at stake here ppl.

damn it
i was really wanting them to wise up and put a duramax diesel in the camaro, that way it would have enough torque to lug its fatass around
rumors have it the 2012 challenger will have the cummins turbo diesel under the hood cuz its so damn heavy it splits the asphalt as its going down the road
but the ls9? thats awesome, now we will have a camaro thats more expensive than a corvette.....
thats what i think is so stupid about mustangs, they need to stick to a v-6 base then the v-8......
but instead you can go all the way up to have a $60,000 mustang and at the end of the day IT'S STILL A MUSTANG.....
they are doing the same with the camaro, now people will have a $60,000+ camaro and at the end of the day its still a camaro
to the average person and especially the average chick a mustang is a mustang and a camaro is a camaro...... but for $60,000 i would rather have a viper or something much different that wouldn't blend in with all the other cars on the road
