torque 603@3900rpm.....that right there will hammer the zl1 every time, as long as the shelby can plant it. also, noticed it sounds a LOT better, and revs more freely.

Other then the .4 liter difference I wonder how the motors would compare with the same size blower and boost levels.

True. But even if they made the same power the Mustang would still have the advantage based on curb weight alone. Factor in the notable power differences and it's quite clear that in any straight line contest the win goes to the GT500 (if driven properly of course).

Guess someone ran 11.28 @ 128 with just drag radials, and a 11.8 @ 123 bone stock. No high 10 sec pass.......... But not to bad!

This... Like I've been saying the weight is KILLING the ZL1. But Id also like to see what the ZL1 would put down with a different blower & same boost.

Slicks and skinnies
This confirmed?? Any idea of hp/tq?

Ahh thanks for the info. I was thinkin of the GT 5.0 auto trans that had abit more than 1 ratio for 4th and abit more than a OD for 5th.

Still, its moving some rpm at 141 mph with those gears

Do you do anything else besides wait for a chance to throw jabs at the ZL1 or comments about the car that don't already attempt to down grade it?

Doesnt it seem like the ZL1 loses alot of power though the drivetrain? Only 497 to the wheels?

People here claim close to that with N/A 346 cubes....

Really how does that pertain to the question I asked him? Also how does it pertain to any of my response's I've always talked good about both cars just wondering why the "ford" guys spend so much time on a GM based site.

No not yet

We don't even know for sure what the mods were.

We have to wait for the magazine to publish the article.
