Mitsubishi Concept X (Evo X)

******* baller. Following the unveiling of Mitsubishi's Concept Sportback, (which was essentially a 5 door version of the car pictured in this article) we get the 4 door sedan variant in the form of the Concept X. Looks better than the recently facelifted Impreza IMO. This thing looks like a fricking beast albeit is looks a little tallish from the rear and has a hint of Alfa 159 in the tailights. In any case, this is one sweet looking car that would do the Evolution line justice. It's definitely more agressive looking than the Evo VII/VIII/IX generation cars which were bashed on occassion for looking a bit less agressive than their Evo IV/V/VI predecessors. I'm sure a 6 speed clutch and stick manual will be standard in place of the 6 speed paddle shifted auto-manual on the concept. And I'm guessing the 4G63t motor soldiers on under the hood of this car as it didn't say anything about this engine being an all new 2.0L DOHC mill. The mouth is a little big, but in a time when Mitsubishi's current lineup looks like **** save for the Evo IX, the design of the Concept X is a breath of fresh air that gives me hope the company may still have what it takes for turnaround.
**** I say build this sucker and badge it as the Evo X, and then build the Concept Sportback and badge that sucker an Evo X... well an Evo X Sportback.

Why can't GM figure out how to do this? I mean seriously? Sure, they are trying with the cobalt SS but it's not even close to a WRX STi, or a Lancer Evo, IMO. They look like nice cars, I've seen the vid of an SS Cobalt hanging with an SRT-4 but the funcationality of these AWD sport sedans is unmatched by anyone right now, for the price range. Of course, I think @ their 36k sticker, they are over priced, but there isn't any reason that GM couldn't tinker with a current powerplant and hit the same formula.
