NO this hasnt happened, BUT WHAT IF IT DID? I was talking to an older man that I know who is really stock market savvy and he seems to think that GM & FORD will merge, so I was wondering if this happened (which doesnt seem likely at all) what would happen? I for one would jump ship and go to Dodge and buy most of my vehicles, cant stand the thought of owning a FORD unless someone gives it to me and I would feel very betrade, Im a die hard GM fan and dont like Ford at all. But what are ya'lls thoughts? What would you do? I dont see this happening but what if?

never say never, remember Usair and America west were rivals, and they merged, I say if the Gov't keeps letting cheaper car makers enter the u.s market ie; china ( their 10,000 dollar cars) along with kia and honda maybe one day ford and gm would have to merge to stay alive..

well that what happens when we're part of the world trade orgainization thats why you always see people protesting the WTO... the WTO would probably say it's illegal to ban Chinese made cars in the U.S.. so the above post wouldn't be an option!!! but enough of my rambling prolly off topic anyways

yes, but the car dealers know that people wouldnt buy the cars if they merged.

We dont want fords, and ford people dont want chevys, or GM, so they will find another brand.

Having these 2 companies merge is one of the stupidest ideas yet.

This is what I think, Dodge would love it, and anyone who is in betwixt Ford and GM brands would like it, but for hardcore GM or Ford guys there would be a bad taste in their mouths and jumping ship to MOPAR would be expected.

If they did merge, they could still use the same brands. Like Chevy stay Chevy and Ford, Ford. The only problem I would have is who took over once they merged. Like whether they keep Ford designers or Chevy.

Basically it would be up to who ever is going to run the show from the merger. I'm sure a lot of Ford guys feel the same about Gm products. So they would be just as upset if everything went Gm in the merger.

Imagine a Camaro SS/Gt 500/Svt/Ctsv/Lightning/Cobra running around! With a blown 4.6 in it.
