That's pretty creative mounting the blower upside down like that... bigger heat exchanger, different intake runners. If they put some decent tires on this car, It's going to be hard for any road car to compete short of a CCX performance wise. It's even more amazing to think about the price point, 100k? Hard to say. Anything under 400k would be a steal IMHO.

edit: also, it'll be interesting seeing the body on this car, I hope they go all out C6R on it. Diffuser, wing, cage. DBRS9, GT3 RS, style.

Let's keep in mind that this is GM. You're not getting the same quality as those other 400K+ cars. Still though, $100K is relatively cheap for what you're getting. Especially when you take everything into consideration.

No offense to those that love euro trash but their quality is overrated in my opinion.

GM cars take a beating everyday with owner abuse and non service and still keep going..

The mystique of european and japanese cars is often a self professed myth...that owners tend not to challenge as its somewhat polically incorrect to challenge their "quality image"

All I'm really saying is the "foreign is better" theme is often overrated..

Get a repair bill on a foreign car and then let us know what you think....

GM makes some kick @ss cars and this Super corvette will trounce the competition in not only performance and cost perspectives but also in reliability....

Maybe interior materials is an area the corvette tends to fall down in but then look at the difference in the costs...

For the difference my @ss doesn't need that extra soft leather...

Thanks for the links.

Like I said, all things considered, this new beast of a Corvette will be relatively cheap. There's no denying that many of the $400K+ vehicles have quality above that of GM, regardless of repair fees. However, something tells me that if you can comfortably afford a $400K+ vehicle, you can afford the upkeep.

How do you figure they have better quality? What about them has better quality? That is a really vague statement.

I do believe that is a truck engine...

I could care less about a SC engine. NA is good for road racing, SC is good for drag racing.

As for the Euro-Trash comment. Drive a BMW or Merc (easily attainable Euro cars in the US) and compare it to your typical GM product, your Z06, or our FBodies...and let the results speak for themselves.

I don't see how people think that engine will fit under a Corvette hood. That looks to be several inches taller than a nomral engine, plus the angled intake which would make that part even taller, I think it has to be the engine for a truck, probably the Escalade.

There is a big difference in the feel of those cars compared to the american cars, because they are built for different things. Ofcourse an F-body, vette, or mustang isnt going to feel as nice as a BMW or Merc. We have harder suspension and are setup for performance, whereas those others are setup for comfort.

I agree completely about the euro trash comment. I dont see any reason why those cars are better quality, all i see are higher costs, and status symbols that every office homo has to have. I will say that theya re damned comfortable and they do a great job at that. But as stated earlier that is what they are designed for. So comparing those cars isnt really a comparison, not meant for the same market.

Now compare say the ZO6 to the M5 and SL65 AMG and now we are comparing vehicles meant for the same kind of road use. In which the ZO6 obviously beats them in every category. The only place that the M5 comes close was cost. Throw the Viper in there and you have the same results.

I just watched a video of a European test of the ZO6 and all the guy could say was Aston Martin eat your heart out. I believe enoguh said.

The truck accessory brackets also point to it being a truck engine.
