What does your candidate drive?
This was taken from the March '08 issue of Motor Trend Magazine. This really isn't news, but it is press coverage! It's just kind of fun to find out what our public icon's preferences in vehicles are. Not all of the candidates responded, and some listed models/dates and some others didn't. Obviously the candidate choices have narrowed since this report, but do enjoy for what its worth.
DEMS--
Joe Biden: No Response
Chris Dodd: Ford Escape Hybrid
John Edwards: Ford Escape Hybrid (2007)
Mike Gravel: No Response
Dennis Kucinich: No Response
Barack Obama: Chrysler 300
Bill Richardson: No Response
Hillary Clinton: No Response
REPUBS--
Rudy Guiliani: An aide reported that he doesn't own a car
Mike Huckabee: Chevrolet Tahoe Flexfuel (2007)
Duncan Hunter: Chevrolet Suburban (1987) [Year not a typo]
John McCain: Cadillac CTS
Ron Paul: Lincoln Town Car, Buick Skylark
Mitt Romney: Ford Mustang Convertible (2005), AMC Rambler (1962)
Fred Thompson: "Volvo SUV"
If we were to vote for these guys on car choices alone, Mitt Romney wins my vote I'm sure these guys have many other cars, too.

If you divide the candidates enough, you can find fault with everyone. If you use issues you'll have problems because no one will mirror your thoughts. If you use party in picking all the folks you support, you'll find not all party members mirror each other. Wouldn't this be called cloning? Religion, something most of use possess. None of us were here when the Bible was written. So few religions view the bible the same. Once, in this country you damn near needed to be a vet to run for politics. Not today! My only qualification for President is they need *****. I would like for them to be married once. I would hate to think of a person running the country who couldn't manage a marriage. I am not religious but I was married in a church. My parents were there. They are dead now. Their friends, my friends, my family were all present. I took vows. I gave my word that I was going to do something for life. If you can't trust a persons word what can you expect? Sometimes that doesn't work either.

The much more important (and relevant in our present economy) question is;
Which of them takes campaign contributions from Japanese or Chinese companies/Ministries Of Trade/governments (or ANY of the other countries raping the f*** out of us with a trade deficit)??
We need someone who will be strong and stand up to them, instead of being indebted to them and bending us over and spreading us wider for their pleasure.
Is there any direct and truthful/accurate way of finding this info?????

I'm with DD on that one.
On the lighter side:
How about Ron Paul- Covering both bases! One Ford, one GM. All he needs is a Hemi Challenger and He'll make a come back!
Mitt Romney- AMC Rambler (1962)....Cool, I think
Fred Thompson- "Volvo SUV" No vote for, but his girlfriends kinda cute!
Mcain-Sore loser. Dusted him in a Race coming back down from his ranch in Cotton Wood, next thing I know I'm getting hit with a sidewinder missile .

the only long way he has is time, he is a shoe in for the democratic nod and don't get me wrong I like McCain, he is one of the few republicans that reminds me of the first republicans and he is tough as nails (seriously do not **** with this guy). But no matter what a Democrat will win this election. Either it be McCain vs Obama or vs Clinton he will loose and loose bad thanks to old georgey boy. And it will be for the good and this nation will no longer be looked at as a bully and maybe our dollar will finally be a thing to recon with.... it will be a second renaiscance (spell check) for us.

I don't see a big difference between Bush and Mccain.. That is not a good thing, unfortunately. I don't like having political debates on message boards, because there's too much to say and it can be taken too many different ways, but based on vehicle alone, I'd have to go with Duncan Hunter. If his automobile spending on a personal level is anything like the way he'd treat the budget underneath his presidency, I can only imagine that we'd be a lot better off. Plus a 1987 suburban shows character, lol.
Mitt Romney a close 2nd, Ron Paul 3rd, and Mccain (Taking all that money, and only buying a CTS? At least go for the CTS-V!)

People spout off all of the time about how there is nothing unpatriotic or un-American about driving/owning an import nameplate vehicle and this belief may (or may not) be valid/true.
But one thing I've noticed that has been a constant fixture in the past, ALL presidential candidates/presidents in office drove ONLY domestic nameplate vehicles, if and when they actually owned personal vehicles that is.
So if it's really ok to be driving a Honda/Toyota/BMW etc then why would every single presidential candidate (Thompson now being among the very few (only one?) to break the trend though Ford DOES own Volvo ) running for office be sure that the American public doesn't catch them driving an import?
Could it be that it IS in fact still important for U.S. citizens as a whole to also own/drive GM/Ford/Chrysler products?
Something to think about.
