Favorite part is this one:
"The supercharged LSA Camaro is still in the works featuring the Corvette’s self-adjusting dampers with Magnetic Ride Control."

Wow, I never thought this day would come. Hopefully there will be enough demand for the new Camaro. I'd hate to see GM stop production of the Camaro again after a couple years. It will be tough....especially with the new EPA rules and gas prices.

Nice. Though I'd heard from a semi reliable source that the supercharged version was shelved in light of recent fuel/corporate restructuring concerns.
Maybe the news about it still being in the works is from an earlier memo?

Great car...if it had a solid axle and it weighed ~ 3,400lbs.
IMO, GM missed the mark badly with the new Camaro...and they are
4 years late bringing it to market.

Holy crap I hope that reported fuel economy is for the automatic V8, if its the manual it is horrible.

Some people wouldn't be happy if it had two solid axles and a weight of 1,700#

Not an arguement, just a question. This mark you talk about. Has any automobile mfg. hit it, or come close? 4 years late, I can almost understand that comment.

if it was like you wanted it would fail miserably. it would probably be noisy and ride like **** and this car needs to attract many kinds of buyers not just enthusiasts.

i prefer it that way too but alot of buyers might not. theyll be an SRA available and like any other car we hook up we can lighten up.

The 3900 curb weight is a little closer to what I was expecting out of the V8 model...still not a huge fan, but hopefully it is at least better quality than what they sold me in 2002.

The EPA changed the way it measures fuel economy a year or ago to more accurately reflect what vehicles use in the real world. As a result the ratings for everything is lower now by the new standard.

That's about what I usually get in the GTO with a stick on the freeway and the G8 is about the same. It's not far off what the F-bodies probably are in the real world too.

i'm pretty impressed with how close they stuck to the original concept car. people argue about all the differences...but i dont really see any. i mean there are SOME, but they're minor and all givens, like badges, reverse lights, etc...

if the LSA model really is $45K+, i'll be proud to say i don't own one. i wonder how a Maggie would clear that factory hood on the LS3

Excellent points.

Look at this car like it's a 4 seater Corvette that's a little overweight, this car will likely ride, corner and stop like no other muscle car/pony car that's come before it. And yes it WILL still be quite fast in a straight line too.
Even the V6 will have some *****.

Amazingly close transition from concept to production. Just like the Challenger.

I know they changed standards but I still didn't expect such a huge hit. I almost wish they would have kept the old standards, Ive seen better gas mileage out of mine than what the EPA rates it at.Whats more, I bet the buying public haven't even heard about the change in the standards and will suffer from sticker shock not from the price but the gas mileage.
