Default Anybody have gremlins in their V's sunroof???

For the past few weeks my sunroof has been acting up with minor open and close movements on it's own. The dial position for the sunroof control switch is always in the detented fully closed position and the sunroof itself is in the fully closed position when this happens. Anyone have any ideas? Is there a faulty micro-switch somewhere that's sending bad signals to the sunroof control? Would a bad control switch do this?

Appreciate any suggestions and would like to avoid another trip to the dealer.

Oh ya...but my problems aren't the same as yours.....in my case if the sunroof is open, and I set it to close sometimes it wont do anything....but if I push a button on the radio or open/close a window it will magically close....so leads me to believe the problems are in the computers and such and not in the switch it self.

Sometimes if mine is tilted open and I try to close it nothing happens until I turn the **** to the slid-back position.

If you turn the **** to fast, it will do that.

I talked to the dealer about mine back in april and they said the tracks get pretty dirty and are very finicky. They cleaned the tracks and I haven't had any issues with it.

just remembered there is also a reprogram procedure...dealer did it for me it did seem to help.

From the faq

Procedure
# Hold in the **** and turn it clockwise.
# Wait a few seconds
# Then while still holding it in, turn it all the way counter-clockwise.
# When you put it back to the "neutral" position it will move a little (coming from the tilt to the closed position).
# From that point on it should work perfectly.

Thanks gents for the valuable feedback. I'll try and clean the tracks first and check to see if there are any microswitches within the frame that might be causing the problem.

YO!

I had the same issues with mine. I actually took the little console piece with the sunroof **** and buttons off, took it all apart and put it back together. Since then, things have been working great! Be careful, though. There are many little pieces you can lose.

Good luck!

The sunroof switch also goes crazy. It's not just the dimmer switch.

My 04 CTSV sunroof just started acting weird. I opened it and when I went to close it with the switch nothing would happen. I was able ti=o get it closed eventually. I tried the reset mentioned above but it did not fix mine.

If I repeatedly press up on the sunroof switch and release it, it moves the sunroof backwards a little bit at a time until it is open all the way but if I wait to long in between pressing it, it will move forward slightly. If I do it in a rhythm of pressing it in at one second intrervals I can open up a lilttle at at time until it opens all the way. Then I repeat the one second intervals and it will close a little at a time until it is closed. WTF?

For me the dimmer switch caused problems with all electrical systems EXCEPT the sunroof.
