[QUOTE]I drove 2 CTS-V's before I bought my 300 SRT8 [/QUOTE

well clearly you made the uglier, slower, see-em everywhere dubbd to the max choice....

hehe jk thats prolly the better choice for the wifey

Ive never lost to one, and have raced 3 or 4. They are my favorite to beat bc usually they have some egotistical douche behind the wheel thinking hes got the fastest car on the road.....similar to bmw m3 owners...

from a roll tho, the srt stays at a low 13 sec car....our cars from a roll can easily hang with a high 12 second car

correction! the V is a high 12 to low 13sec car! the srt-8 is a mid to high 13 sec car! They are both sexy cars! so who cares?

srt-8
1/4 mile -13.5 (RETRACTED) 1/4 mile - 13.2
0 to 60 - 5 (RETRACTED) 0 TO 60 - 4.7
425 hp @ 6000 rpm

Enough of the bench racing, go and git er done. I think at 425HP and a curb weight of 4,160 (not 4,500 as I checked two sites) it will be a drivers race; your CAI and pipes 'may' get you 10RWHP. And as always with our Vs, get him from a roll,,,

This is the third time I've had to post this... its from motor trend between CTS-V, 300 SRT-8, and GTO... with the V coming out on top...

Oh, and it is not a 13.5sec 1/4 miler, http://www.dragtimes.com/Chrysler-30...lip-9877.html; he goes 12.67, not 12.56, maybe he loaded the wrong vid???

Here is another 300C with a CAI and pipes going 12.72, http://www.dragtimes.com/2006-Chrysl...ecs-16903.html

I realize these times are an anomaly, but I have known a few SRT8 owners, and the CTS-V is not as superior as some think.

Every car brand has some monsters that come off the line! That does not in ANYWAY represent the true performance... I'm suprised that you would even bring something like that up! (RETRACTED)

So what you are saying if a stock V1 does 12.9sec/13.0sec, which I cannot recall if I have ever seen a timeslip on, it is the accepted norm. BTW, where are all the V factory monsters that have gone sub 12.7secs, I know of none. Given our rear-ends, I do not think the V can break 13.5secs with most owners who want to leave the strip under their own power. The rolling races are to our advantage, but I also know that hard-shifting the V is also asking for trouble. My point is that this car is very equal to a V1, more so than most will acknowledge, but none of this matters, as hopefully this race takes place soon.

I own a V, probably for a longer period than anyone on this board (Aug 13, 2004), but I do not wear blinders when considering the competition.

BTW, the SC 300 also beats the best V1 SC time:

Last time I checked MOTORTREND was a little more credible the DRAGTIMES.COM Maybe you need to go race one then. (RETRACTED)

Just to confirm your statement, an opinionated magazine that competes with at least five other monthlys is more accurate than a time slip and video.
Please explain, and remain objective, thanks.
Also, include the fallacy when considering videos from the strip, thanks.
Regarding racing one, anytime, anywhere, but not sure how that fits into the discussion.

i agree!!! i run 13.7 in my bone stock v the 1 time i brought it out there just to see what it could do an i was spining..... if tracks wasnt cold would have wheelhoped i bet. the only other time a race it was againest my friends n/a 12.9 consistantly 03 mustang gt from a 15mph roll and by 100mph i was out ahead by 2 1/2 cars or more! me driven i might lose 70% of 1/4mile runs to srt8 cause they dead hook and dont miss shifts. but from a anything above 15 20mph roll i will beat any stock srt8!

just my .02

my dad has a 06 gto bone stock and cady will take it. that is stock 6spd VS. stock 6spd. a4 VS. 6spd if i were to guess cady wil beat worse heard they where slower(only thing better bout gto is ther seats have more side cushion, steering wheel adjustments sux. feels like i am driven a honda civic with steer wheel all high and not in my lap anyone else notice that?)

Sorry about the threadjack...

Are you in the market for a new hood? What do you think about this idea that I have? I am looking to get 5 guys interested in this and getting EC (the same company that made the hood above) to build it for us.
