so i'm looking in to getting an exhaust for the v, but don't want to get anything that i would have to sell when i throw on the maggie next year. so my question is are there other guys running custom exhaust systems when they supercharger it, or is there something out there now i could get that would still be suffice once I throw on the maggie?

also, is it worth spending all the money in actually doing the exhaust with new headers (kooks?) all the way back? i believe there's an x-pipe in the middle in between right?

don't kill the noob, been working on my sub 500whp import this entire time and now i'm in whole differernt realm.

I would say the Kooks/Corsa combo is probably the best deal out there for these cars. You shouldn't have to modify anything for the blower though and the extra flow on the Kooks should yield a pretty nice gain.

I wouldn't say that combo is the best deal. Kooks can be had from EPP fro about $850, and a new magnaflow can be had for $600, so that is the best deal. Corsa catback is about twice the cost of the magnaflow.

Any NA exhaust setup you get will be fine for the maggie, but you may consider the a 1 7/8" primary headers over the 1 3/4" if you are definitely getting a maggie.

1 7/8 and a b&B exhaust as its the widest diameter of piping available for our cars (3").

nothing else unless your trying to save money at the expense of some power....in which case id go with the magnaflow which is 300 bucks cheaper or so.

magnaflow with the kooks is proably the best all around option i would go with the bigger headers but stick with the magnaflow cat back. due to the small c.u.i of our motors 3 inch exhaust would cause a loss of tourque and mostlikely bottom through top hp as well esp. low end. the blowers helps but bigger exhaust likes to see bigger c.u.i and most importantly compression, which our cars have neither. on that note i have the magnaflow cat back and i love it. quiet enough for everyday driving but loud enough when it counts.

small cui wrx motors although turbo,,,, use 3" piping. our motors our more than twice as big.....put a blower on a 5.7....

I mean stock our exhausts are 2.25.....I think....magnaflow is 2.5"...if the magnaflow adds power across the power band on a stock motor V.....then one with the added header diameter and primary lengths.....and the blower.....3" seems like itd be optimal.

I don't disagree with you 04ctsvfl, I just responded to Mausta's post. I never really answered OP's question about the best choice all prices aside.

I would like to try a B&B catback. Anyone want to loan me one?

It all depends on how loud you want it and if you want it loud all the time. I would have to say kooks/corsa. I have that on mine and it is awsome. It's throaty down low and wide open, but if your cruising down the freeway it sounds stock with no drone. (I know why they get so much$$$ for them now.) If you want loud all the time I would have to say magnaflow, I have heard they are a little noisier at cruising speeds then other exhaust. If you don't have headers yet I would save more money and just do a header to stock exhaust. I ran this combo on my 2004 V. I had 1 7/8" kooks with catless connectors to stock exhaust and a w4m pcm. About $1,200 installed, wait for a good deal on the headers. This really woke the car up and def noticed the power increase. Plus you will already have headers for the maggie install.

save money and just go open headers. lol jk kills me to think that corsa is twice as much as magnaflow with little to no difference in power. personally, i dont like b&b or corsa but dont care much for magnaflow either. sorry i dont have a better suggestion but just my 2 cents, go with magnaflow and save the 600 for a dyno tune when you get the maggie.

thanks for all the responses guys. looks like B&B might be the choice. so it's a 3" diameter then? also, if i had the kooks 1 1/78 headers, will i expect to lose power n/a? i dont want it to be all boggy until the maggie's on...

those of you with the B&B setup, how much power did you gain out of it? anyone with the kooks 1 1/78 and B&B together? i'd like to obtain some first hand feedback.

pipe makes horse power? maybe if i put some of Clark W. Griswalds cooking varnish on the inside of all my piping i'll gain another 1/2hp to the wheels?
