Well, I ended up with about 90 minutes yesterday, but was able to at least remove the shocks and start to disassemble them. It looks like all the hardware just transfers from FG2 to QA1. Twill be nice to get those brackets to good use. Maybe tonight if I have time.
However, I need some input on the rears. When switching from stock springs to GC coilovers, you added Nivomat spacers and ditched the stock rubber spacer. I would imagine that going to the QA1, you ditch the Nivomat spacers. But now I've got to find those stockers again, no? I know I have them somewhere, but it may be a bitch to find...
Looks like both my front FG2s were failing. I had seepage on the driver's front, but to my surprise, my passenger side front was DONE. The whole suspension arm was doused in shock fluid and water.
Oh, and of all joys, I found that I'm missing a mounting bolt for the upper control arm on the passenger side. Not a big deal to replace, but I wonder who screwed the pooch on that one...

Wow. Looks like its a good thing you were changing them. So a bolt from the upper arm was missing completely? And dont worry about the mounts. Just remember me if you ever have anything to get rid of or have any good deals. I think I tossed all my original suspension parts with I went with GC. You could probably just use the ruber bushings GC sent and install it on bottom or use some of the nels spacers on bottom. I have several of those aluminum 1/4" spacers if you need some. I used one in each side just to make sure I didnt get the dreaded GC clunk. I plenty of them left over. Let me know if you need some.

Yep, one of the 5 mounting bolts was missing completely. In the FAQ, it's recommended to remove the battery. So as I'm removing the bracket, I'm trying to see where this bolt is. All there was was a hole. As for not having the spacer, I guess it's not a big deal. If it affects ride height, I know I have some leeway to work with. I'm not concerned about having it slammed so...

thanks you VERY much for the post.
...I did not know that...reduces my anixety level...
No one (yet) has QA1's in the Dallas area, and I hate being the one that has to have the car down for days and days trying to figure it out...
