Default Those with QA1 shocks...

I just need to know what vendors you got your QA1s from. QA1 has no clue who made the front mounts for the V. Some of the vendors don't know where the mounts came from and are puzzled that QA1 doesn't know.

I have a feeling that since I'm not buying anyone's QA1s, no one wants to expend the effort to help or guide me in any direction. It's now late April and my V is still down. I've got the QA1s, stiffer springs and new hubs. Just need those damn mounts...

TBJS,
I bought my QA-1's that I sent to ctsv-154 from D&D something, But awhile back I tried to go to that site and it wasn't there anymore.
I got there name from stkshkr he might know something about them.

Did you see the thread on "the other cadillac site" ?
154 was trying to get hold of you about the front qa-1 mounts, had some pics of the ones I sent him.

Good luck with them,

Nah, I didn't see that. I've got pics of the mounts and I've shown them to QA1 and D3. Neither know where to find them or get them made...

I posted up some dimensions on the other site as well. If you need them let me know. If all else fails you could have some fabbed. Just let me know. More than willing to help.

Thanks. I appreciate that. I imagine getting them custom made isn't too big of a deal. But what kind of bar and bushing would be needed for the loop design of the QA1?

You know what, give me a few days and I can probably get some made. If I can make some, you can just have mine. I'm not making any guaranties but I will try.

There isn't a bar at all. It looks to me there should just be a grade 8 bolt that goes through the mount and the shock eye. I'll pick up some hardware for those if I can send them to you.

Does yours have a spherical bearing in the end for the mount?

I appreciate that greatly. It took nearly a week to get a hold of anyone at D3 since it seems they don't take phone calls. And they had nothing for me, which was a little annoying. It's just amazing that no one knows anything about these things...

I found some plate today and will be taking it with me to work in the morning and using the band saw to cut out the pieces. Wish me luck!

Well...... how did I do?

Personally, and not because I think mine look better, but I think I will send you the originals. Only because I have no idea what kind of steel these are or how hard the metal is. I really dont think they are going anywhere but the originals are proven and I would feel better sending you those. Just pm your info and I will send the originals out.

By the way I didn't weld them. I made the pieces by hand (no band saw, freakin cutoff wheel! Took me seven hours to make these! lol) and had a guy at work tig them for me.

I hate to cross post but I'v researched alot on this topic:
http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...d-today-9.html

I have decided NOT to go KW nor Ksport nor D2 "coilovers" as they are not coilovers in the rear. My last option is QA1's, waiting for some cash to appear.
.....maybe I'll apply for federal bail out.... $10billion just do it....might be easier to get $50billion....

they both adjust but not independently. QA1 is rebuildable and there are plenty of guinea pigs in Vs already. Plus, I got mine cheap, used from a friend of a CF member. Although buying them cheap led to the great bracket search. I've got GCs with 500/550 springs and bought a set of Hyperco springs in 650 and 700lb rates. So we'll see how I like the QA1 and those stiffer rates. I'll also be able to mix and match springs...if I can live with the ghetto look since Hyperco springs come in blue...
