Yes, I agree, that is one sexy car. And...when AMG says they limited the tq to save the tranny, that's not entirely true. They just decided that 1000Nm of tq was a nice round number so left it there...but it's capable of quite a bit more. BUT, what else would you expect with a large(ish) displacement twin turbo? I mean, if you think about it, that power is impressive from a factory but a TT LS3 could do that also!

You probably don't care, and a win is a win. But, 99% of 2003-2007 FI Benz's have IC pump failure and most drivers don't know it. The cars get heat soaked and run like poop (hence my 107mph trap speed). Since I've replaced my IC pump it's like a whole new car. I'm not trying to start a net bench race...but at any speed from 0-155 your V would not hang with my CL (or any other 03+ CL that's actually racing you). And, I can launch without worrying about the rear end!
I wasn't talking **** about V's...just saying that he shouldn't feel bad cause the V12TT's have more power than they appear.

That SL65 Black is sweet, but at $300K you could fill your driveway with a ZR1, a C6Z TT, a V2 and a G8 GXP. Then again, those that pay $300K for a supercar do not weigh the price.

Here is a video of my friend Ken's 2004 E55, R.I.P., as he passed away a few months after our track rental. This car ran 30 times that night in 3 hours, not a mis-print, and nothing broke. He ran on new PS2s, but by night's end they were fried. Car had some mods, such as pulley swap, 80mm TB, etc...:

i can also testify to the fact that all a maggied V will be seeing is a E55's tails. i dont think its a fair comparison form a stop because you cant really launch a V and if you do you will probably break something. ive seen a friend V with longtubes, cam, maggie, and dyno tune lose to another friends stock 05 E55 more times than i can count.

why would you waste your gas or chance a ticket on a magnum? you dont have to race to know the outcome... unless you absolutely cant drive, or something it seriously wrong with your car.
