radio buttons? not a big deal, just get oen thats still under warranty
motor mounts? once again not a big deal, get one still under warranty
rears ends? dont try to launch it and get out of it when it wheelhops, and your fine. you would have to be STUPID to not let off in ANY car thats wheelhopping, you'll eventually break something.

i certainly wouldnt call the car "unreliable" based on a rear end that only breaks when idiots try to launch them or dont let off when its hopping.

Oh my GOD!!!! We agree on something

I agree with Randy and what he originally said. I've had my car for 91,000 and on my third rear. No blown, just noise. Now with some mods its louder then ever, but I deal with it. I would buy it again yes. Changes, shifter immediately. Some other things I would have done sooner when I had money.

oh ya! i almost forgot! the g8's are unattractive and look cheap!
I went to meet another V owner not too long ago. So it was our cars next to each other, and a G8 infront of him. Some guy comes up to us and says who's car is that? Pointing to the G8. He walked all around it and was besides himself. We all laughed that he didn't even acknowledge the Vs.

If you want a more rare, unique car that will surprize alot of people buy the V. It's no drag car (as said) but will hold its own. Don't forget you still have to sit and drive in it, so why not luxury?

Don't really give a broccoli fart about how it is spelled, but young Megan can plant her petite **** (I know I can bounce quarters off that derierre) on my seats anytime she wants. Of course I am then welding all the doors shut, as she aint leaving,,,

BTW, many variations, swade, schwade, sewade, seawade, seude, etc... suede is the correct way, but then again this aint no damn spelling-, grammar-, politically-correct forum.

HAHA...you guys are crazy. this thread got way out of control. I hope I am getting to go test drive a V 2mw. I have a buddy who is a dealer at the local chevy place and he just got one in today on trade. I think its a little high (price wise) for what it is though. 21,995 for an 04 w/ 75k on the clock. But, it will let me know how much I like the car and give me a base line for what to expect.

You should be able to get that for like $18k. I bet they didn't give more than $15-$16 on the trade. If he's your buddy he'll hook you up.

If I had to do it all over again I would have bought the V much sooner. Other than that no regrets at all.

and, for me, thats even too high. 18k for a car w/ that many miles is just not a good deal. There are some on here w/ mods that could probly be had for that.

An all black G8 is NOT that bad, especially with the right rims.

Frankly, I would rather have a less attractive car that was reliable.
If you guys are claiming the rear in the V is reliable, then you are in denial.

How about a statement we all can agree on:
I'd like the NHTSB to forced GM to pay Madman to put their rear on all the existing V's that apply for it. That way, at least SOME of the money Obama is pissing away will be put to truly good use.
IM LIKING WERE YOU ARE GOING WITH THIS! all im saying is put some stickys on you vette rev it to six thousand and see how many times your rear holds up. yes our rear ends break but if you talk to every one that has thats more than likely what you will here from them that they did. maybe minus the slicks. if you drive any car like an idiot something is bound to break. the other side to this is people tend to only talk about things when they go wrong and less when things are greaat!

Reving any car to 6,000 is going to create issues:

Agreed, there were probably 7000 V's sold every year since 2004 and the only rears that I know of that were broken are the 100 or so that I read about on the internet. For the majority of owners the rear is just fine even though I'd personally would have liked to have some additional safety factor in there for mods.

While I had a very difficult time parting with my 2004 V, I sure am enjoying my new 2009 V, a fantastic car that has seemed to address any short comings of the first gen car!
