Don't need to do heads on the LS3 since they have the L92's already, cam only LS3's can get to 500rwhp. Granted it's a big cam that you wouldn't want to use a DD but still, that's impressive. Only problem I see is me being really jealous.

lol I hear ya i know they are badass motors, but going boosted, your gonna make more reliable power with a built bottom end 6.0 over a bone stock ls3. i could be wrong about that but id think greg would be using his turbo kit so being able to run more boost at a lower compression would be ideal.

I also think cost wise it would be a lot cheaper to just build your ls2. But there's a thead on the other forum about a ls3 v. I think mallet swapped it in for someone.

Why would you go thru the expense and trouble of putting an LS3, other than just saying you have one? There are so many subtle differences between engines that you better do all your homework prior, if you're set...even things like exhaust, attachments, hoses and other little things like connectors and such can make a project a nightmare! Not saying it can't be done, just why?
I could see an LS7 swap though, as it's quite an upgrade and that would be cool. I wished GM made the SuperV in 07 like they were going to cause I'd have that one and an LS7 dammit
But, if you're planning on adding forced induction and want to spend the $$ (LS3 swap will not be cheap), why not look into an iron block LSx and go from there? Not sure your goals, but if they're realistic, the LS2 can handle a good amount (for cost based on this is what you have), imo.

ls3 is a great engine in its stock form and the heads they come with is where ithey really shine. but a forged ls2 with some low compression heads and ur gunna make big power when u start boosting the .2 litres of displacement doesnt make a huge difference.
