Real dyno numbers before and after muffler delete!!
I see a bunch of you guys where going round and round with dyno numbers when you take the mufflers off... Well I just got back from the dyno.. did 2 pull before cutting the mufflers off..
(All pulls where made with in a few degrees of each other, and let cool for about 15 mins). First 2 pulls with mufs on was 335 rwhp and 325 rwtq..
Cut mufs off and put back on dyno both runs with mufs off was 334 rwhp and 325 rwtq... So no loss and no gain other than sound!! Numbers may sound low but this was on a superflow dyno not dynojet!
this was on a 05 ctsv 98000 miles bone stock other than air filter.. (just filter).

Your numbers before and after the muffler delete are great to have. Thanks for providing them.
Really not surprising though since someone posted on here about installing a Corsa system for big $ and only gaining 1 hp. Screw that I say...delete is the way to go.

I have a couple buddies with high mileage F-bodies that still run great. One in particular is a nitrous car on the stock block with around 190k on it. It's nice to see the LS motors holding up like that. I was getting worried with mine getting up there in the miles that maybe I should be looking to sell it and get something else again but it has yet to miss a beat.
700hp LT! That's some good power! My ex had a 95 z28 we played with a little. Only basic mods so it wasn't too quick. Just looked and sounded good. Lol but yeah... LS motors are def superior to the LT motors but the LT's aren't horrible. I had friends in high school and shortly there after that had a couple of them putting down good numbers.

I agree those big block cats have to chock the system more then the mufflers and this seems to prove it.

I think im going to try it some time this summer to delete the cats.. ill have after numbers before the tune and after the tune...
The shop i deal with will say all day long the cats dont really choke off much.. they work with the vets all the time on the dyno and do it all the time.. they say if you have over 75k miles and its been babyd then its worth it for hp.. other than that they are a very good flow design.. (yes it will sound way better)!! I have just over 100k and i dont no how it was driven b4 i got it so off they will come... (thanks for the times)...
