wrong.....mike nices V ran out of fuel and only made 440rwhp and also bent the pushrods and possibly did some other damage. i agree properly setup they can run well and are a good alternative but its not something id do.
um is that something wrong with the turbo kit ? or having a stock ls2 under boost ??? and he made much more than that when he up'ed the boost

After a week of running the overdrive crank pulley and a 6 rib belt I shredded a belt and had to change it on the side of the road, not a huge deal, but to me thats not acceptable from a daily driver. Think how cool it would be to throw a belt with a business client or a girlfriend in the car... So I stepped up and added the full 8 rib kit, ECS belt tensioner and a Green Gates Kevlar belt ($80 for the belt alone!). I put 10k miles on that 8 rib belt and it still looks new, 0 belt slip and no more dust in the engine bay.

The only reason I sold the Maggie off my V1 is because I don't need the car as a daily driver any more and the 500rwhp was beginning to feel tame, now I'm going in a different direction.
^^^PM sent^^^please respond, thanks.

if you are going turbo...be ready for a lot of time and extra money to be rquired to go into the project. for the TVS2300, just find an LS2 2300, and mount in on the V. just make shure it doesnt have the top mounted intercooler. if it does, you will need a new hood and not just a new strut bar.

good luck through.
that thing is sick! looks like its scary to drive!

Alll i was sayign is he stated a well built rear mount turbo system etc, and quoted mikenices srtup which obviously waasnt well set up. boost on any motor can have problems but mikenice didnt have his setup well built IMO. its more then just slapping piping and a turbo on a car.

yea but his build wasnt just slapped together ? it ran flawlessly and mike nice never broke anything in his motor maybe the new owner did but thats because he started screwing with it mikenice notched the turbo so it wouldnt spool over 8psi and the new owner got it retuned to make more power, but as far as quality goes it was just fine, what would have u dont differently,

I would have made more then 440rwhp for one.

turbo+ls2+t56=440rwhp equates to WEAK if you ask me

yes...i think the length of time was due to the amount of costom tubing, and the wallet limits for month.

my favorite part is how long will it take...???...two days.

the diff looked like someone put a shotgun to it.

I should be gettting a rear-mount turbo setup in my CTS-V going in the next few months. 4xx cube iron block w/ a 91-101mm turbo should do ok.

Rearmount setups can definitely work if put together correctly.

For my application I'm looking to stay out of boost for putting around, and have a helluva punch when I get into the throttle.

Also, unless you're going to be heavily involved in the work/planning, a 8k budget won't work.

Right now we're working on planning the fuel system. Easily a grand there, easily.

i think you are looking to build a more serious kit. if you are looking to put down 500-600 rwhp on 5-8psi you could do it with minor upgrades the fuel system and prob come i way under that 8k limit.

Absolutely. But if only looking for 5-600 whp I'd honestly do a maggie w/ cam and methanol. Spray some nitrous if you need to. I say this having owned 2 maggied Vs. Considering a used magnuson setup is ~3500 you can stay way under that budget.

Aren't the TVS2300s pushing big power? Thought I saw some 900 whp dynos out of one or two. A 2300 would blow an 8k budget out of the water. So I guess your options are A) magnuson setup that might not quite get you to 600 whp, or B) blow the budget and have much more power on tap.

V2s rock. I hadn't seen any used under 55k when I looked or I'd have gotten one and disregarded all the trouble of the previous arguements/all that work.

im not much of a twin screw/roots fan. just me personally. hence why i would rather run a centrifugal or tt setup.

there is a v2 for sale on the other forum under 50k if i recall. stick also.

Default single turbo

This is GREG O. and i did last Nov. buy MN V....the last dyno pull at 7.8psi was 458 rwhp @ 475'lb.tq.... but i was short on fuel..i needed bigger injectors
and a KeeneBelle 40amp boost o pump....in August i let a relative drive the caddy against my vette and i lost him badly..When he caught up i could hear a knock..found out yesterday i cracked a piston...he either missed a gear or accidentially went from 2nd to 1st. or, just a shitty tune i got days before..Anyway, the motor is now being stroked, bored.005 with callies compstar and diamond 9:1 pistons and a comp cam....like LILG said MN notched the housing and supposedly won't go over 8psi...I STILL DON'T KNOW wtf NOTCHING MEANS...HELP...so i will get another turbo in the future and definately will be done by March....i have some life left on the turd clutch but i have a twin disc Mcleod ready to install....and i might just go all out with the G Force rear kit.... Anyway the turbo setup was neatly professionally done except for a cheap scavenger pump...It now has a gear driven EXA from Turbonetics..... catch u'all later GREG O.
