About the muffler delete? If so, its a bit of a dead horse, many folks have tried it, myself included, it works well and sounds great. Definitely a good cheap option. I experience drone though in 6th gear, right around the 65-75mph cruising speed. For the money though its a great option

Unless someone is going to pay you to remove your mufflers I'm not sure I understand how it's going to be $1000 cheaper. As I recall I paid $650ish, shipped, for my Magnaflow catback. If you can find a shop that's going to pay you $350 to remove your mufflers let us know where it is so the rest of us can come get that deal, too!

Thats my car, i paid 150 total for new tips and to have the mufflers whacked off and the new tips installed.

Just remember there is 1150 dollars worth of aftermarket exhaust conected to the motor though lol.

I paid $550 for my Magnaflow and its easy to install yourself. As others have said, remember that he has $1200 worth of headers in there, that is where the awesome sound comes from.

Oh yeah, the muffler delete has been around since the beginning of the car back in 2004. Its nothing new and tons of members have done it.

This has always turned out to be a great mod. I LOVED it on my '95 vette. Hack the two rear muffs off and make delete pipes, leave the resonator. Sounds great. Not sure how your resonator is made, but this was ours: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...resonator.html

Gives it an awesome deep tone.

I put an x-pipe in place of the resonators and deleted my mufflers with 4" tips. I spent well under $300 in total parts/labor. It was perfect with stock motor/exhaust manifolds. I did the cam/headers/no cats all at once and it is just obnoxious at that point..had to throw some mufflers on it..haha

I've heard that when you start modding such as cam/headers, the muffler delete gets obnoxiously loud...I've still got my stock cans stacked in the corner of the garage.

I think the dirt bike sounds good....

Oh wait, you're referring to the V. Lol.

Muffler deletes are cheap and sound pretty good. It's up to you though on what you wanna run.

I had the magnaflow on mine when I bought it and I cut the mufflers out. The mag system is too quiet... Sounds stock...

I paid 120 for the mufflers to be cut off, new piping and new tips to be put on, so the price is definitely right, and aside from the drone at 1800rpms, most cost effective mod I have done

Kooks and Magnaflow work great for me. No mufflers would be way too loud for everyday driving. Even if it was not a daily driver, driving that that loud would get you pulled over for sure in Dallas.

Catback and headers sounds perfect to me. If you want it louder at times get electronic cut outs.

Here's my Magnaflow and Kooks.

since ive added the cam to the above video, its only gotten slightly louder but sounds a lot beter at idle lol. i guess it would be obnoxious though if i didnt keep cats on the car or the stock resonator. They definetly help tone it down some and I doubt they do much in respect to performance. I didnt want a loud *** car like my SS was, stock manifolds but all 3" straight pipe to the back.

Very true. Yours sounds great. The cats and resonators are just enough to keep it from being obnoxious.

Yeah I bought an 03 Cobra for the purpose of re-selling only. It had SLP Loudmouths 3" I believe and NOTHING ELSE. I have to say it was the most obnoxious vehicle I've ever driven. You honestly couldn't hear the supercharger and it was ported and stupid loud. I took them off and put on some.....40 series Flowmasters.....Don't kick me off for that.....But it sounded 1,000% better. Sold the car to a kid who had the SLP's put back on the day after.... I see the car occasionally and it makes my brain hurt when it goes by...But to each their own. I do like the surprised look on people's face when a 4 door Caddy rips by at WOT.
