The B.O.D. (Bolt – On Dragster)

Project Name The BOD (Bolt On Dragster)
Stats 675 BHP

675 ftlb TQ

13.5lb Boost

Platform 2009 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan
Achievements 1/8th Mile: 7.2 @ 99.9 MPH
Build Concept Too often we (i.e. the aftermarket) are too quick to pull all the OEM components off and replace it with larger blowers, etc. This was not the case when building this CTS-V. We have opted to retain ALL OEM internals, and utilize the OEM Eaton 1900 Blower to its maximum potential.

The result is a phenomenally powerful CTS-V that we consider extremely Competitive in the Street Legal Drag Circuit.

To date the only downfall preventing us from achieving official NHRA 1/4 time slips is the fact that the CTS-V has entered into the territory of speed that now calls for a full 5 point roll cage, seat harness’ and a full fire suit to race.

Lets just say that we think the chrome-molly roll cage will clash with the plush leather interior, but then again we can always wrap the cage in suede!

yeah that's pretty common. It's pretty easy to get the v2's into the high high 10's if your a good driver.

you can basically spend under 5 grand and make the car a solid 10 second car. (not counting labor)

I just wish D3 would stop using the hub mounted dyno, it makes the numbers unrealistically high. At D3 day at fontana a V1 with only a lightened FW and ls7 clutch did 397RWHP on there hub mounted dyno. That is obvioulsy not what the RWHP is for a 405hp motor.

Yea that is true but a hub dyno is the best way to dyno (TUNE) a car..

You can load the motor without the tires slippin.
Hub dynos can apply load accuratly with minor rpm increments.

Plus the fact that everyone has different wheel and tire combinations.
You have guys with big rims or guys with lightweight rims or heavy tires ect...

When i look at numbers i look at the % of the gains...

Its like saying a manual trans is cheating becasue it shows higher numbers..

Who needs a dyno queen .. I like to tell people i have a 10sec car not 750 to the wheels.. If they want to know how much power i have they can use a calculator thats avalabile online. http://robrobinette.com/et.htm

All very good points, didnt think about the tuning aspect, good to know.

I agree on the % increase also. I guess I like the bragging rites of dyno #s a little much, and get offended when people think a product/shop/car is amazing because of the high number of a hub dyno. No offense to D3 they seem to have a quality shop.

Yea lol i love braggin rights of the dyno numbers aswell but i am tired of everyone arguing about which dyno to use and what the hp/tq is suppose to be with which parts ect.... every car is different and every install is different.

Does not matter what dyno someone uses as long as the % gain is there then
