Headlight washers...
...do all of the 1st gen V's have them? Mine weren't working (wouldn't extend), looked in the fuse panel and the relay wasn't there. Got the relay, still nothing. Does mine maybe just not have that feature?

I looked at a set of smoked headlights for mine....Since they are all spiderwebbed due to age/weather. I sure was glad I paid attention to the fact they were the non-washer type.....Until I saw those I just figured that all CTS headlights had washers.....The ones he had looked almost identical at first glance.

I didnt even know my car had them until the headlights got dirty and they started automatically going off. You have to hold down the washer button for several seconds before it kicks in.

I can believe the self-adjust part, but I don't buy the part about HIDs requiring headlight washers. There are an awful lot of cars available with HIDs that I'm positive don't have headlight washers.

I dont use mine very often but I do know they will not spray if the fluid level is too low. I thought mine stopped working one day. I got the low washer fluid level warning so I refilled a few days later and voila, they worked again.

Also OP make sure all of your plumbing is intact. Someone I know didn't have the windshield squirters for a while. He later found out that the tubing had been disconnected and tucked down in by the battery.
Perhaps someone disconnected them, the headlight washers are known to **** off owners when they cover the car in fluid traveling down the road.

I didn't know about them for awhile. I would notice at night when spraying the windshield that the headlights seemed to dim. I thought it was a bit ridiculous that something that insignificant would put a draw like that on the electrical system enough to dim them while driving. Until one day I finally discovered why...
