Default Can the LS3/LS7 TBody b made to work on LS6?

Want to put one of the newer gold butterfly 90 mm throttle body pn 12605109 on my Maggied LS6. I know that I need an adapter/snout for the blower and a wiring harness but I've heard of possible voltage differences between the tbodies. Can anything be done programming wise or are these just not compatible?

If you do a 90 you might as well just grab an ls2 since you know for a fact they are plug and play. Youll still need the harness

Yah I know that would be the easiest. Those LS7s look like they're finished a lot nicer and may flow better. Plus I just bought one before I realized they were a little different. I really don't know how much diff. it will make on the Mag. Was planning on installing at the same time as the 1 7/8" OBX headers and letting her breath a little more.

You need a new snout, adapter harness, and the Tb...(possibly an O ring gasket as well)... but thats it. It'll bolt on as long as you have a 4 bolt flange and the Tb harness adapter ...good to go.

Great mod, highly recommended.

Thanks for your feedback pard, but thats it? I'm really curious about this as there are a couple boys on the other forum whose tuners were unable to get them running beyond "Reduced Power Mode" and "after some tuning and diagnostics the problem was being brought on by voltage difference in the new style 90mm throttle bodies." Don't know if I'm allowed to post a link to the thread.
I did find a post by another tuner who claimed they fix these all the time. Appreciate any insight.

I wouldn't gamble with the ls7/ls3 tb. The ls2 tb will work. You can get you a FAST intake or get your ls6 modified by tpis. I'm right in the middle of doin it to mine. I just sent mine to get modified. I'll start a thread when I get done. Should be about another week.

My intake is made by Magnussen and for some reason it has a belt on it too.

Ha! My bad. I glanced at the thread and then posted. But I'd still go with the ls2 tb. Send it to get ported and polished.

Hmmm.. I'd like more info on the voltage please. I just put a 408.. LS3 based motor in my car. It's got the "Reduced Engine Power" message up now. I can't get it to go away.. Annoying!!

Thanks

The LS3 throttle bodies wont work. I know, I put one on and get the reduced engine power. The LS2 throttle body will work great. Wait4me said he can get an LS3 TB to work but things have to be changed in the tune.

I had issues with the ls3 tb too. I ended up going with the ls2 tb ( aluminum blade). The ls2 tb worked perfect!

I tried using an ls3 tb as well, and using one of the best ls tuners in the country suggested using an ls2 as well after encountering reduced power mode. Voltage and the direction the blade opens has an adverse affect. Save yourself the trouble, and money, just get the ls2

There's a guy on the corvette forum who will take your ls3 as a trade in for a p&p ls2 tb.

What gains did you see with the LS2 TB and the headers? My tuner said to stay away from the larger TB for some reason.

You could see 5-10hp with a larger tb but a small lose down low. Headers are always a gain with or without a catback.

The reason to stay away from larger tbs is the tuner has to set the idle controls more accurately or else it wont idle properly. We had a couple instances where not enough iac was given even with a larger tb.
