Default GForce Axle Install Cost

How much can I expect to pay to have the Gforce big axle kit installed?

if you have access to a jack and jack stands you can do it yourself really its no difficult. Paying a shop I would expect to pay like 500 probably. Just a total guess though. Go to repairpal.com and look up the labor costs.

Do-it-myself will not happen(wish I could). I don't have the time or the place to do it. Anybody know what the labor time is to replace 1 axle?

It takes me about 45 mins to remove the axle...so a shop should ask 3 hours of labor for one side.

it may be cheaper to install the race axles as they do not have to tear apart the axle shaft itself.

it may be worth considering the install price difference to see if it makes sense to pay more for the better product (plus you have an original axle that can be sold)

Don't remember timing myself, but it really didn't take that long and was very straight forward.

I'm of the opinion that $300 would be way enough to install two axles ... more like $200.

I must have misread your post. Pay $1899 for race axles in order to save 1 hour of labor over the $500 standard axles.

If the OP wants to spend the money on race axles great, they look like an awesome product. http://www.shop.gforce1320.com/produ...&categoryId=22

Oh, and I believe it took my shop less than an hour to do each side.

That was the funniest thing i have read on here in a long time.

Just an fyi, just because a shop can do it in 30 minutes, doesnt mean they will charge that and i dont blame them. Boook says 2 hrs they should charge 2 hrs. If you do clutches 5 days a week of course it wont take as long as someone doing it for the first time.

Not my money... Yeah i guess i was thinking the race axles were cheaper for some reason... but figure an extra hour of labor off, and the re-sale value of the stock axles as a discount, could weigh in on some... (not me... get the cheap axles. and be done with it)

We charge about 3 hours a side for axle seals. GM warranty(which is crap) pays about 2 and usually book time is about 50% more than warranty.

Hard to find a shop under 100 buck an hour around me so i would expect 300 bucks in labor.
