Default Two tone rims?

So I was messing around with photoshop and a borrowed picture from the PIC thread (Jon04ctsv's car) to check out some rim options.

I want to go darker, but there seem to be a lot of straight black or gunmetal CTS-V rims on here so I was thinking about trying something else.

Any thoughts? Hate it? Like it?

Personally, it wouldnt be my choice, maybe if the setup were a bit reversed, similar to the 35 anniversary SS wheels. but that being said, if you like it, go with it.

It's an interesting idea, but I don't think it looks very good.

I really like the idea...but the execution of the color combo would be the main thing. There is no real clean line between the spokes and the outer edge of the V wheels. I have been trying to think how I can do the black with red strip on the stock wheels...I have not seen anyone do that yet.

First off... Your car do as you wish...

But know as a semi anonymous internet hater... I would hate on you for doing that to your rims.

While I agree the black/gunmetal has been done a lot on these cars... Its because it works SO dayum well.

IMO, it looks incomplete and stands out the wrong way.

I think the only time you can pull a two tone wheel off is if there is some kind of lip or deep dish.

exactly....there needs to be some kind of clear break point in the lines of the wheel....a natural seperation break point.

Check out the STS-V wheels. I think they look incredible on the CTS and it's a stock look too.

You can mask and section off with powder coating too.

Not a big chrome fan actually. I'd consider a dark gunmetal type of chrome though.
