Default Axle issue, please help!!!

So I broke the inner CV joint on the driver side axle last weekend, & since my driver side axle is an older Hendrix anti hop axle, I am having issues finding a replacement for it. Of course G force makes their kits, but their larger axle is for the passenger side which doesn't solve my issue, & not only that they are out of stock for 3+ weeks. I can always buy a used OEM axle, but I would prefer to stick with my anti hop axle.

My question is, can I use a CV joint from a used OEM axle & slap it on the Hendrix axle, or is the axle even rebuildable? I NEED to get my car back on the road ASAP... Yes I used the search function & couldn't find any concrete info.

Thanks in advance...

-Dustin

if it's just the cv then all you need is a cv...you should be able to just get the cv by itself.

Thats what it looks to be, the housing is fine, but I can move the axle around on the diff side. I called around today & couldn't find any info as to weather or not I can just get a new CV for it. How do I get in touch with Hendrix? Does the Hendrix axle use the stock CV's?

IMO, if you broke a CV you might want to upgrade to an aftermarket CV/axle set up.

Here...

Thanks Cole. That looks like a nice kit, however I am on a budget right now, & REALLY want to get my car back on the road being that I have only owned it since the 2/13/11, I barely got to enjoy it before I broke something LOL.

Where can I get a stock replacement CV? Let my add that this car will NEVER be my track car, its purely for street fun, & cruising. My solid axle Mustang is the drag car.

Is it just hendrix axle shaft kit? If so you should be able to just buy another stock axle, and swap shafts.

I guess? I bought the car fully modded, & my buddy who sold it to me said that it has the Hendrix anti hop axle on the driver side, & he said it came fully assembled. Isn't it different than a stock shaft?

He popped a CV... I think he can just use an inner CV off the other axle that he has laying in his garage. Basically use the inner CV from a spare driver side axle to fix the broke inner CV on the Hendrix axel. It should work....

Gotcha, you could buy them fully assembled but i believe the single axle used all stock CVs hendrix just assembled it for you. I biought the kit and assembled it myself.

If you have a spare CV you can throw that on.

My buddy I purchased it from has a brand new stock passenger side axle that we were gonna eventually throw in because he said my passenger had a slight clicking, but I have yet to notice it. Is the inner stub interchangeable from the driver to passenger or vice versa?

Yes, the inner CV is interchangeable between sides.

Exactly. You have stock inner cv's and they are interchangeable from side to side.
