Talking Kooks Install w/ Dyno

Kooks Headers!!! How can I describe the sound its so intoxicating. The acceleration feel is crazy also. I love the way the car pulls, at least for the next few months lol. Car dyno'd today at 358hp on a dyno jet.

more tuning = breaking **** more easily. the V1 driveline is one of the biggest hunks of **** GM has made.

which is one reason (another weight) that you F Body will run 11.53/122 with 1.90 60' at 413whp and 395wtq. the fast V1 i have seen with similar power is high 12s most of the time with 2.2 60'. the only V1 i have seen run close to you 11.5 had over 800whp...

V1 = **** digs

BTW: OP- nice video and numbers...similar to mine. what Kooks are you running?

Honestly, that doesnt mean ****, i cant even understand your sig but if it says 416rwhp with just a crate ls6 and headers then thats a joke. Dynos are all different, I made 365 with kooks and a cai but that doesnt mean anything.

I can believe you can't understand it....it says 413 dumbass...read it again. Check out the mph that backs it up. It's made between 405-413 on 3 different dyno's with the last being the highest do to the header and y pipe change. It did 407 with mac headers. I was trying to help op out so maybe he could get it tuned a bit more by showing what mine did.

So youve gone faster then 99% of bolt on c5Zs with the a crate ls6 and headers. get the **** out of here.

Good for you though, but im not buying that BS.

OP, headers are the best mod I have done by far. Definetly made it a totally different car.

That's what happens when ya make your **** work. It's has about all bolt-on exept for a fast intake. The intake is a homeported one with a tb I bored out and made a new throttle blade for. A faceplated t56 too. I can't help what c5z's are doin....but I can garantee ya if I had one it would be faster than my Camaro......although not by much.

So you have Kooks 1 3/4 headers, Corsa exhaust, and intake.. very nice man! I'm assuming that your going to keep it lightly modded since you went with the 1 3/4 headers? I'm guessing your wanting to get around 370 to 380whp once done?

I do want to go with a mild cam in a few months, I'm hoping for right around 400rwhp when done.

In the sig mostly. Homemade 3.5" catback, ported tb and matched to the intake, 32# injectors, tuned, 6800 rev limit, granitelli mas air, stock ratio harland sharp roller rockers, 3.90 gears, underdrive pullies, kooks headers, mezeir electric water pump, MY OWN tilton triple disc clutch set-up, faceplated trans and some very creative weight reduction.

Just to satisfy both sides here, hio... Your making good power with the crate. Awesome work. With u-joints and your clutch set-up, that's good for a virtual 20-25hp in the V's. Dual mass flywheel absorbs a lot of rotating mass and rubberized couplings mating trans output to driveshaft and same for pinion rack up some hp loss. To much deflection and reflection in our drivetrain. Just one way GM attempted at maintaining the cadi ride.

I had a write up saved from a GTO forum a year or so ago before my hd crashed. Guy had his canned LS2 engine dyno'd before he dropped it in his V from the engine builder. After install and dyno, IIRC there was a 18-19% loss through stock drivetrain. He did a clutch swap and picked up like 10 of that back.

Thanks. My clutch set up is light, but I can't say it was noticable on a dyno. It made 407rwhp with the spec clutch. I think the kooks picked it up the extra 6rwhp. I'm sure the CTS's drivetrain is soaking up more power than the F-body is, but it should'nt be 50hp worth.

the reason your so much higher is the 3.90 gears and the light clutch, for example my buddies ls2 cts-v put down 375 with tune and corsa same day tuned ls2 gto that has 3.4x gears with headers and 3.5inch exhaust and tune made only 363
