That would suck. I kind of like getting paid to go to work.

Everyone on PRP should go down for experiencing financial hardship...

they have until 1 April to get the budget looked in, after that all government funding, including pay checks, will stop. what you might have read was that something similar to this happened in 1995. that time the military pay didnt stop, but this time that prevision written in that is would not stop military pay. but this time, that prevision is missing. so if they dont approve a budget by then, then we get to work for no pay.

chances are that wont happen, but just the possibly makes me nervous. my bills dont stop because my pay checks do.

Congress not passing the budget is equal to not doing your job in my opinion. Most people who don't do their jobs get fired. Me I get fired, and depending on the severity of it, I receive the equivilant of a felony criminal conviction. If I don't do my job in the most extreme of circumstances, myself and my soldiers get dead. I have mouths to feed. If I don't get paid, I'm going to find another job. Who's going to stop me? The guys in charge who also aren't getting paid and have mouths to feed?

if you read your enlistment, you are guaranteed at least your base pay. and since your enlistment is a contract, the DoD and federal government is in breach of contract. and you can sue them, not sure how far that will go haha, but everyone could revolt and file a class action suit.

i am 90% sure they will, but that bit of the unknown makes me nervous. just because (if) my paycheck stops, doesnt mean my bills will. when someone mess with my living, and way of life, i tend to be a little nervous. just like almost anyone else in that situation. you ask 100 people "what would you do if there was a rumor going around that your 'company' might have to stop all pay check due to a budget issues?". i bet dollars to doughnuts that the VAST majority will be pissed/nervous about it, even if its just a maybe.

but if this does happen, holy hell there will be mass revolt in the ranks.

I am awaiting a new budget as well. Ill take a cost of living freeze. Just avoid the furloughs and layoffs.

Atleast pass a continuing resolution for the rest of the year. PLEASE

cause the people who decide their salaries. Are more or less them selves.

What about all the other perks? Health care for free for LIFE? housing? cars? and all their local lobbiests contributions to their well being. Its business not leadership they are working on.

This country needs more statesmen who are for the country and not themselves.

Yeah it baffles me how they can take multiple vacations while important things need to get done. Say health care isnt the gov job to provide... yet the gov provides it for them.

the housing, cars and pocket money they steal are more examples of them being hypocritical when they speak.

according to the politians you are a drain on the economy and get paid to high compared to private industry....

which is just speak for saying that they are mad you dont work for them so they could have a company making money off you instead.

I have been here almost a year. And I feel I am worth what they pay. I started as a GS9 and fully expect to be a GS11 sometime this year.

But I would do just abuot anything they need me to. So I just hope they get things passed.

If it comes to layoffs/furloughs ill be very worried.
