For a little more you can get the 9" from geforce and it comes with stronger cv's/axles

Thats how much it is slated to be WITH the 8.8 diff. Im curious how much it will be just for the brackets and driveshaft adapter

Thats the issue that I'm seeing. Like people have said, those diff's are pretty cheap at the junkyard. I'm going to guess here and say 100 bucks for the diff and a few hundred to rebuild it so lets say 500 bucks. So the other 3700 (so far) is for the mounting bracket and drive shaft adapter?

If I didnt daily drive my car itd be getting a straight axle for 3000 bucks that couldnt handle whatever i could throw at it. Im not all that impressed with the cars with the 8k dollar madman IRS 9"s. You simply cant beat a solid rear for a drag car.

Who the heck cares about a drag car? Who wants a 4 door car that can only go straight? Live axles suck. Sorry to be opinionated. This car beats an E46 M3 and an E39 M5 around the Ring. The axles suck. We need to fix it. But not straight axles. If I saw a V with a live axle, I'd expect at least a 20" mullet to be in the driver's seat.

Full set of brackets is 600 plus shipping that leaves to source diff and axles. Which would diff could be sourced for under 150 and i believe custom axles would run around 1500 for 1000hp axles. So 2400 bucks full setup

the key isnt to build a drag car. its to keep the car we have as is, but able to go what we want it to and not fail.

Does that connect to our driveshaft?

I could see spending 600 for the kit and 550 for the axles (i know those aren't 1500 hp ones since I will barely be at a 1/3 of that).

You can't get axles for 500. It don't work that way as you need custom axles but g-force has the ability to make 1000hp axles because they make a inners for the 8.8 diff and outers for our car

Your missing the CV joints. If you use stockers it kinda defeates the whole purpose of a built rear since your still leaving a weak point in the rear.

I already picked up a pumpkin for $400. It's not hard to keep axles in one piece, stop driving like idiots.
