Default 645i vs cts-v

Have a question for you guys, my initial answer is that I would not have a problem...

Friend has a 2007 BMW 645i convertable and I have a 05 V. I think I would win in a drag or road race....am I right? I will say that my friend can drive like a bat out of hell!!!

Yes, you will win. Of course, a 40 roll will be best.

Truth...

40 Roll, V All day.
Dig, He would have the jump but you would reel him in very quickly (with in 3 seconds IMO).
Road Course, no problems since his 645i is a convertible, and will more then likely be more unstable in the corners.

You either have the year or number wrong, I believe. If it is a 2007 it should be a 650i and although that motor is only rated at 360hp it could be a contender. My friend has a 550i automatic with exhaust and intake that ran a 12.3 in the quarter mile. He was there to watch his brother race and everybody talked him into running his family sedan down the strip. They were a little surprised...

Umm, with that car what does he really have to do other than mash the gas and steer?

IMO, most can do that.

V1 weight is ~3850, where has V8 6 series (2006 650i) is ~4300.

4.8L BMW V8 makes about 340hp.

True...not many people know what a V is...she definitely heard me while we were on the on ramp. I think it was more that she thought she had a fast car and heard my headers...not necessarily that she knew what a V was, although she could have.

Your friend definitely didnt run 12.3 with a 550i with JUST an Intake and Exhuast, They run HIGH 13's stock. It would take alot more than that to drop 1.5 sec off his times. Low 12's is what an M5 runs.

To the OP, You would WIN hands down in ANY race

Thanks guys, that was my inital thought, just getting a better idea. Those 6 series BMW's are really nice cars but I have not had a chance to drive one to see how it feels.

I very well may have the wrong numbers, can't see that much of a difference between the two though...neither are a M series

On a drag-strip yes, on a road course not so much the case.

For the record, I don't really think the 650 will beat the V. I definitely don't think the 645 will beat the V. However, it's not my car, and I don't give a rat's *** if the 550 ran 12's or not. He had a time slip and he's not a bragger or a show off. I was just mentioning it as a reference because my jaw hit the floor when I saw that slip.

Anyway, we should all stop talking about it. Throw a crisp $100 bill on the table and take him to funky town...

I drove one of those. U don't need to be a good driver. U just slam on the gas, and it goes. It can't even spin the tires.
