Default which muffler?

So decided my v is to quiet. I like it quiet but its TOO quiet LOL. So what do you guys suggest that's still quiet at idle for most part but has a nice tone will driving? I don't want a catback because I think the prices are ridiculous. I was thinking of leaving everything stock and just changing the mufflers in the back and is that big piece in the middle another muffler or a resenator? Thanks

If u still have the resonator and u don't want it too loud, keep that and just delete the muffs at the rear. I ran stock cats with x-pipe and muffler delete for a long time and it sounded great but was fairly quiet at idle and quiet while cruising but it was pretty loud when you'd get on it. Just a cheap option that I'm pretty sure will give you exactly what ur looking for.

No... You're not just hacking it off... You'd replace the stock mufflers with straight pipe. The resonator in the middle will still keep the rasp down and keep it toned. Lots of people on here have done the muffler delete and for the money, it sounds great! Just a suggestion.

Are you running high flow cats with your headers or catless?

Oh... And u can keep your factory tips if desired or buy some nice looking aftermerket tips (i prefer the magnaflow tips personally) and have them welded on.

Oh ok. Sorry, I thought u had headers for some reason. Well in that case, I'd swap the resonator for an X-pipe and delete the mufflers and get yourself some nice tips. I ran that setup for a long time and it sounds great! Now I have LT's, no cats, x-pipe and no mufflers. Lol it's just temporary because it's just a little obnoxious and raspy but I'm about to add some Borla stinger muffs and I'm hoping that will get me closer to the sound I had before now that I have no cats.

The mag tips are polished and slant cut 4" I believe. They look the best of all the options out there IMO! I just don't care for tips with the rolled lip but it's all preference.

Not a problem man. As long as you're keeping your cats, you can do away with both the resonator and mufflers as I said but if you're picky and think that may be too loud, do the mufflers only first and then do the resonator if needed. GL!

I kept my resonator and added a pair of 14" Magnaflows (11226). Sounds good, not too loud, not too quiet. Just cruising it sounds a little louder that stock but WOT they sound nice. If you want quiet at idle and a nice tone when you get on the gas, get the Magnaflows.

Theyre $66 a piece, plus the cost of tips. I bought the Magnaflow tips (35121) to go with them @ $51 per tip. If youre looking for some cheap 4" tips, get a pair of Cherry bomb tips (577577), theyre only $18 a piece. I bought a pair of those too and they look just as good as the Magnaflows tips but ALOT less $$$$$$$$$.

Yes... 2.5" x pipe and pipe.

I started out with a Magnaflow catback on my car when I got it and ended up cutting the mufflers off for a muffler delete because they were just too quiet for me. They hardly sounded any different than stock to me. Lucky, I had the x-pipe already because of the catback and sold the muffs for almost double what it cost me to have it welded up at the exhaust shop so it worked out. Made some money and got the sound I wanted. I think you'll be happy with X and no muffs if u want your car noticeably louder than factory. But as you know... Different strokes for different folks...

Yeah 2.5".

Have you checked out youtube videos of the muffler delete on a CTS-V yet? If not you might want to check them out and other mufflers while youre there.
