It's a KDI Track Sweeper.

I'll have to look, or the KDI boys can post what they want. I think they prefer to keep em hush hush

My Goal was to see how close to 700 I Could get without touching the heads. I have a post meth that is going to go on eventually, but I need to figure it out/talk with some guys who have done it. I hope to have 650 daily without really making it an aggresive tune and then have the xtra when I need it.
No E85 out there??

The car sounds awesome Sean. I just had the "street sweeper" from KDI installed this weekend.

you can get it, but it's no where near my house so not messing with it, plus I'm still not sold on it, and you have to push a lot more fuel in it from what I have seen, so there goes your MPG, mine's bad enough as it is, don't want it worse.

if i recall correctly the 120 lsa is due to the valves and not having them open at the same time which sucks for boosted applications. There was a discussion on the other thread about it.

Rooster, thanks

Here's what KDI's "street sweeper" cam sounds like in conjunction with Stainless Works cat-back exhaust.

it uses 30% more fuel but the benefits are worth it. there was a local guy around here that has an 03 cobra and compared it to race gas. with out going into to much detail it basically cooled his intake temps by 20-30 degrees and made 40-50 more horsepower and tq. i can pm you the full write up if you want

I can get the same results with meth, don't have to pump 30% more and can get regular gas at every corner.... That's where my kicker is. Plus if your using 30% more and it's only 50 cents cheaper not sure it works out... (this is just for the houston area) I'm only spraying meth when in boost, so I think I'll be happy with my set up.

how big is the price tag gonna be when your meth pump doesn't kick on or goes out when you are under boost. every one of the local guys around here that used meth on there cars have now switched over to E85 for just that reason. PEACE OF MIND and they make more power.

there is a guy with a 00 vette supercharged with 140k+ on the motor running E85 making 680 to the wheels for that past year beating the dog crap out of it and still gets 25+mpg when he is nice to it.

you really only loose about 5mpg switching over. so if you want peace of mind and be on kill mode all the time then by all means do it

-5mpg gets me to 8 mpg, no thanks. You don't get more power out of e85 then meth. With Meth you are basically running 103-105 octane (race gas) it will get more power then e85. (I'm running 100% meth, not 50/50)

If you tune your Meth properly it's just as safe as any other power modder. Let me ask you, did your friends tune it on AFR or IAT? I plan on tuning it to cool the air so I get colder air over the AFR. If you use it to do the AFR is when you get into trouble if it goes out. Cooling the IAT's allows for more timing, it's a safer way to tune meth, and allows it to run harder, when the IAT's increase you pull timing and now your back to being safe.

Just like you know people running e85 for years, I know people running Meth for years now (follow the GN crowd much?) and they have no issues. Like any tune it's all about how you tune it and what not. Any power moder can have a bad rap if not done correctly. Also with out using the meth to get a huge power advantage I'll be over 650, not sure how much I want on a daily driver. When I want to go to the track I use the more aggressive tune and hit 700+

I'm just not sold on an e85 tune yet, it's not out enough. Meth has been around for years. I can also have the tune set up to safe guard if there are not the IAT's required I can pull timing and safe guard my car.

Also the biggest factor for me is I already fill up 2-3 times a week, and the nearest e85 station for me is still 7 miles away from my work. Just not worth it.

Finally if your on the other forum, Phxtrode, runs meth, runs 700+hp, drives it 50 miles each way to work, beats on it and has been for over a year now and no issues.... Meth is a great power adder if done properly, but it like Nos and anthing else gets a bad rap by someone that doesn't know about it, or someone had a bad experience. Modding is dangerous, it all comes at a risk, but Considering I'll be Logging every drive, and anytime I'm racing I'll be logging and monitoring it. It can't get any "safer"

No the earliest I could get it into the dyno is Wed the 28th. I'm sure the dyno will be posted before I even get to work lol. Mike is good like that.

i understand that these cars don't get the best gas mileage so i understand that. Yes i know that spraying meth cools down the intake temps, that is just like spraying nitrous to cool down your temps to.

see what you are failing to understand is that E85 will do just as good if not better than running meth. plus E85 has a huge resistance to knock, that is why people use it and it keeps your temp way way down. E85 roughly has a octane rating of 104 and is compared to race gas, but race gas doesn't have the resistance to knock like e85 does.

at the end of the day it is your car and you do what you want.

I Understand exactly what your saying and realize it all. But e85 is new, meth has been around for ever and also the final deal breaker is the nearest e85 to me is 25 miles alway. That's a HUGE deal breaker to me.
