Default motor mounts, UUC vs CS, what's better?

which are better, not which set do you own and worship.

i think mine in my 04 are about crumbled to dust.

Do not buy UUC mounts. They are junk. CS mounts would be your best bet between the two. The mounts I have and worship are like the UMI mounts and they are better than both of those mounts. But you can choose what you like. The CS mounts have a pretty high success rate.

I didn't even know there were UMI mounts. Do you have any more info?

I wonder if they'll honor it still.

Ditto on the UUC.

I wonder if they treat the BMW crowd the same way?

thanks for the reviews guys. I just emailed UMI to see if they'd still sell them to me for 200 bucks. I'm trying to refresh this car, build it up a bit, and save as much as I can during the process.

I'm glad someone with a million horsepower **** fest can testify to the quality of the UMI.

probably not, but they frequently have sales, and those new mounts have always been in the sale section. Regardless, its definitely worth the extra $50 even if they wont sell them cheaper. Trust me!

I have a set made by "RC51" (if I remember the name correctly) that are identical to these.

I wonder.

UMI are more solid in comparison to CS. I've seen alot of issues with CS mounts where people would have to replace them within 1-2 years of having them in the car, which is not something I would want. I know there were some color coded, but I believe I saw at least 2 threads with failing CS black mounts within 2 years.

I have UMIs, and if I was trying to look for UMI mounts right now for $200, I'd look for members who purchased them then said they "hated them" without even putting them in the car. I know I've seen at least 2 or 3. Try to buy it off of them.

yep I called him. hopefully he gets them off the car before i need them. I'm throwing an aggressive cam in, and the car is no longer going to be my DD, so I'm slowly looking for parts to restore this car to near-perfect shape and turn it into a garage queen.

My 2nd set of stockers are getting REAL close to being shot. I'm 99% going with the UMI ones. Max at CS was a GREAT dude when I was shopping for the set I'm rocking now but got a set of "new in the box" stockers for $40 shipped so I couldn't pass it up. NOT A CHANCE I'll go with anything BUT aftermarket ones this go round.

how long does it take you guys typically to get these mounts in? mine are shot enough that my headers are touching my steering shaft, even after bending it in a little.

I feel they are just slightly too harsh also, I'm trying to find softer rubber bushings that will work with them.

It took me about 4 hours for both sides replacing the stock ones. AFTER doing this I read and could have definitely cut some time by using some tips from past nightmares that other's have had. NOT a job that I look forward to again tho.

I put in a CS trans mount at the same time. The stock one wasnt bad, but its so puny and flimsy compared to the CS mount im POSITIVE it helped firm things all up.
