Default Vibrations whe Braking b/t 40-45

So i get these semi violent vibrations when braking between 40-45 MPH especially downhill. Once I get lower than 40MPH then it goes away.

I inspected my rotors and they are not warped, the car does not veer to one side when braking, and I have never tracked my car. I also checked att ball joints and end joints, all are "good". No side to side play.

I did get new tires (Nitto NT555) put on. Could it be the balancing? If it was it would do it all the time then right?

I have UMI Performance MM but that couldn't be the problem could it? Never did this when I first installed.

I did a couple of hard brakes to see if it was just pad buildup and it helped a very little bit.

It's kinda annoying and scares me when the whole front of my car feels like its going to vibrate/shake off.

Any help would be appreciated

Can you maci=hine cross-drilled/slotted rotors? Like I said Ive never tracked the care so no excessive heat. Can it warp without those factors. It's my daily driver.

Visual and Ghetto lateral run-out. Don't have the measuring tool but rigged up something and it was even all around.

Ive machined my girls on a g35 and it works great...Make sure there is enough to take off though( should be no prob if it's the first time its getting machined). Also the balancing could very much be it also mine only caused vibration between 40-55 but it was always there not just braking. When I took it to get balanced the shop said that whatever idiot balanced them before ended up putting a dumbell worth of weight clips on the one rim. Even though that particular rim was balanced it was different than the others.

It can be poorly balanced wheels. Certian speeds can create a resonance which causes more vibration. I would try and check your rotors more accurately. I had about a 1/4" hop (ovalized) in my rear wheel, and it was nearly shaking my car apart at 70mph... so these cars are definitely sensitive to imbalances, more so than some other cars.

Honestly, it sounds like mildly warped rotors to me..... But then again, once I had my wheels rebalanced, i noticed it smoother in the 40-50mph range.

Working with Brakemotive right now to get warranty on the rotors I purchased from them. Should I get new pads if they send me new rotors?

check your balance. I have to balance my wheels about every 3-4000 miles.

OP, i thought i had the same problem with my car, and put a dial indicator on them. they didn't have anymore than 0.005" warping in them... which is probably what came out of the factory.

If you buy new rotors, definitely get new pads. Your old pads have a chance to wear your new rotors funky, depending upon how dense/tough your brake pads are.

As i said before, i would check your wheel balance first, mine were off horribly. I agree with WCRYAN, these wheels do not like to hold balance very long/well.

Even though you did not track, rotor can warp if you go through a water puddle with your rotor heated/

Default Same problems with my 2008 Escalade.

I am having the same problems with brake vibration with my 2008 Escalade. Just downhill and at 40-50 mph. Also, the grade of the hill needs to be pretty steep as well. Whole car shakes pretty much.

I had the dealer machine the rotors and check out the entire braking system.....and it only helped for about a month. Right back to shaking again. I took the car back and they told me that everything was in spec....and to wait until the rotors wear out so that I can replace them.

Did you ever get to the bottom of what it was? I am thinking about just changing the rotors and getting the tires balanced.

I changed rotors, pads, wheel hub bearing and still have the vibrations. Sick and tired of it. I havent balanced the tires yet b/c I dont think it has anything to do with balancing. Only happens when I brake. HELP!!!

Could my calipers be bad?

do you have any air in your abs pump system? maybe its the abs coming on and off which might be causing the vibrations..

do you get then when you do a slow gentle brake stop?

Honestly, the tire balance would have been the 1st thing I did. If you got your tires at discount tire they'll do it at no charge.
