Default LS7 Clutch Installed

I just got my LS7 clutch installed today with an LS7 slave. Clutch pedal is right on the floor but I expect that to change. There is some chatter going into 1st and switching into 2nd. The 18 lbs flywheel makes the car feel a lot lighter and it seems to rev a lot faster. How long is the break in period?

Interesting! How does the car drive with tire pressure as high as you have it?

Total cost. My clutch slipped a little last night and I didnt like it one bit. With around 80k miles I figure I might as well just change it on my terms instead of it go when I really need it.

Good to know. I have a buddy with a lift so hopefully we can cut it down a little more. I've also thought about doing a STGII build on the transmission as my car pops out of gear sometimes when I down shift from second to first.

Appreciate the info! You can definitely see a difference in that flywheel.

I love the LS7 clutch and Katech shifter combination I installed in my 2005 CTS-V. It was definitely one of the best mods I have done to my car and I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a CTS-V.

Here's my writeup on the "other forum". Maybe it'll help someone changing out their clutch. (obviously substitute the Monster Clutch for a LS7 clutch)

http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...h-install.html

There's videos of revving the FW before and after as well. Man the stock turd is such a piece of ****!

It totally is, mine was stuck in an offset position and wouldn't move. My car starts up so much quicker and it shuts down right away now. Can't wait for break in period to be over.

Yeah. It holds too. But I think it's on it's way out. It's starting to slip a little now

How much power do you have? I have 75k on my stock clutch, 35k of those miles with a maggie and ~435 rwhp, and my stock clutch still holds strong but I am going to replace it before it dies and take advantage of a lighter flywheel.

Is there an agreed upon power limit for a z06 clutch in our 4000 lb car?

I was reading on some Vette forum and they had ppl w/ 600 rwhp that said as long as you aren't at the drag strip all the time or have drag radials. The tires will spin before the clutch has a problem.
