Default About to lower the V... Trying to decide which route to go...

Yup... Sold the damn GC kit with my car thinking I wouldn't be in another V and here I am. Fml!

So... Looking at my options. I want the car slammed but still practical for a daily. I've read through a search that eibachs lower the car slightly more than the H&R's but that their springs are inconsistent. I've heard stories about the rear springs leaving the car at stock height and having to be cut to level it. H&R is consistent but I just don't know if it will give me the drop I'm looking for.

So... Post pics of your drops guys! Both eibach and H&R. If neither make me happy, I guess I'll have to blow the money on another set of ground controls. Fml!

Thanks in advance.

the rears vary... if you have self leveling or not... i think its fe2s that dont have it and the fe4 does... you can call your local dealer and see if you have the auto leveling... all you need is the last 8 of the vin.

Ill have to check out which shock option my car has. I have a mighty mouse kit in hand if I have the FE4's like my last car had. I actually have some H&R coils already too. They both came with the car I just got along with UMI solid motor mounts that need to be installed and a new headlight bulb because one is out. I intend to do the motor mounts and headlight tomorrow. Was gonna put the springs in but wanted to be certain that the H&R's are what I want to run beforehand.

H&Rs with MightyMouse Spacers. I love the stance these give the car, but I would not go any lower for daily driving. Especially here in Texas with hope shitty and pot hole filled our roads are. But if I did have this, I would go for Coilovers.

This is the clearence between the ground and my Mid pipes, about 5-6". And I have to be VERY careful which driveways and speed bumps I use. I have heard that lovely facia scrape and even better metal clank...

^^^Da troof.^^^^. H&R is about as low as you want to go on the street. I could rub my Corsa and Kooks exhaust on a few highspots and high pitched driveways.

Thanks guys! I guess I'll just throw these H&R's on since I already have em. No sense dealing with selling and repurchasing something else especially with what I've heard about the eibachs giving u and uneven drop. Only other thing I'd do is coilovers but I'll prob be happy with these springs. Both of y'alls cars look like they're sitting with the perfect stance for being lowered but still practical. Worst case scenario, I'll get coilovers later and sell the H&R's but I doubt I'll even need to do that.

I'll echo all the H&R suggestions here. It's really a no-brainer considering you already have them. I scrape on all kinds of stuff with mine. I can't imagine being lower.

+1 I got them as well...
Didn't want to start a new thread and felt this one would be appropriate. Was wondering how long the MM spacers take to install and are they a b**ch. Also does MM send instructions with his kits???

I didn't receive instructions with the kit. Kinda slowed things down--A LOT.

See... My old car had cut coils. Loved the stance with them. Just didn't like the idea of the cut end of the spring not sitting 100% seated like I did before I cut it. The drop springs are nice and flat on both ends for that sturdy seating. Does this really make a difference? My old car drove fine on cut springs. Just always a thought in the back of my mind that it was kind of bootleg but I didn't have any issues. Guess I could install cut stock springs if I wanna go lower than the H&R height.

And as far as mighty mouse instructions, he has them posted. Do a search. I haven't installed mine yet cause I used the rc51 spacer on my old car but I found instructions online for the MM install for when I do this car.

looking good jj... i'll ask the usual question, how's the ride on those cut stockers? I'm looking for a 0.75-1.00" drop both front and back and curious if this may be an option.. there's obviously differing opinions all over the boards

My cut springs rode a little rougher than stock but not bad at all. I cut a coil in the front and 1-1/4 in the rear.

Running 245-45/18 all around. Looking to sell them and go smaller and lower.

Car rides great. I autocross it a Lil bit and no complaints

Im on 275/40/18's and 255/40/18's right now. I plan to lower the car on these H&R coils and if i want more clearance or to go a little lower, ill switch to 275/35/18's and 245/40/18's.

I'd really like to spend the money on some nice true forged wheels or CCW's but depending on the cost of widening a stock set in the rear, i may go that route and then powdercoat/black chrome them or whatever direction i decide to go color wise.
