Doubt it, but after a build like he is doing making a custom strut tower brace is trivial. Plus the stocker is relatively flimsy.

Lets see some pics!!!!

I wound up not selling it because the motor has issues so now it sits until next summer when I hope to join the four digit hp club

The s/c will spoil you for sure.

I was running a 243-251 on a 112. It sounded mean as hell.

The strut tower brace is the least of my worries.

Interested in the results.

I'm finishing up my 454" LS7 now, 13.5 on E85 and have been kicking around slapping the 2.9 on it.

That V is going to be ridiculous and nearly untouchable with a blown LS7! Wow! I can't wait to see this monstrosity in action!

Honestly I am looking forward to being surprised. We have done several 2010+ camaro's that have hit 710+ rwhp with just a cam headers air intake the whipple and a custom tune. On the m6 ls3 cars. So we will see with ls7 with around the same compression and 12 psi. I have always said 600 to 800 rwhp is optimum for a street car.

I think I'll see 650-675 on the motor. Adding the blower with compression and E85..... who knows!?!?

The whipple shipped out this week, should be here middle of next.

Here are the Diamond pistons...

LS7 Titanium rod

Weighed the new parts and the old. Piston/rod is helluva a lot stronger and lighter.

I guess you will be starting assembly any day now. Can't wait to get back home and take a ride in it.

not losing many highway pulls with 600-800rwhp on tap.

this seems like its going to be a sick build.

Anyone that has had the pleasure of driving a C6 ZO6, knows how fast the engine will rev. Their sound is one of a kind too. I'm quite excited to see how this shakes out. New Piston/rod wristpin combo without rings weighs 1036.50 grams. Stock LS7 piston/rod wristpin combo without rings weighs 1079.65 grams. That's over 43 grams per cylinder! With ultra stout 2618 piston material, and ARP rod bolts with 4032 wrist pins. This thing will be plenty strong, and I hope super responsive rev happy!

Once the Whipple is here, we will mock it up to see what kind of hood clearance issues there will be.
I wonder if one of those stick on hood scoops from Auto Zone will work?

Looks good Chris.. I've been thinking a 200 shot needs to make a nest on my car soon.. too high of compression for boost and no E85

By the way, is Comps trunion kit a one size fits all deal? I have them in my stock LS1 rockers but would like to switch em to these LS7's if so.

The trunion kit will fit stock LS7 rockers too, but, the bolts that come with the kit are too long for the LS7, stock bolts will work with a shallow socket, or you can get new allen bolts of the right length from the hardware store.
You may be better off just buying a new kit though. I would be afraid of damaging the bearings when pressing them out.
What is your C/R? A 200 shot would be nasty, but so would some boost.

Sounds good I will just get a new kit they are pretty cheap anyways..

I believe my compression is 11.7:1 or so. Not sure what the dish is on the pistons but I know they are gapped for nitrous Wiseco 2618 alloy.

Your V is gonna be insane after all this new stuff goes on.
