The whipple has arrived!
We were able to do some mock up with the blower.
It is about 3" too tall near the front. Still too much for either of the aftermarket hoods that is out there.
So I will need to figure out what kind of "scoop" to cover it with. I am open to suggestions guys! I found out the appears to be a plastic material, so fiberglassing a scoop shouldn't be too big of a deal. A cowl induction style will cover the blower, but not sure how it will look.

The short block has been dropped off to Virginia Speed for Shawn's CNC magic.

Yeah we have someone that can handle the body work, we just need to figure out what scoop will look best with the lines of the V.
I haven't been able to really dig up a lot of options. Any suggestions are welcome.

You could do the V2 look but don't think it compliment the V1 very well. I don't think any type of ram air would look good at all. An aggressive wide dome wouldn't look bad but 3" is pretty tall that far foward.

I'm interested with what you guys think up!

I see your in my neck of the woods. Will a Specter Werkes Powerdome hood clear the blower?

*Edit* I see you need 3 inches of clearance.....good luck!!!!

Yeah, my address is in Morrisville, good to see more V's in the area.
I contacted Spectre Works and Extreme Composites months ago when the idea of the Whipple started bouncing in my head, both only netted 1.5" or so of clearance. So I kind of knew it wasn't going to work. Now if they could make those hoods, with a taller bulge, that would be sweet.

I would let Kenny Williams look at it and fab a cowl style hood from your stock hood with metal. You know he can do anything with metal.

Chris this is going to be one badazz V buddy!

Thanks Yohaan! You need to come home soon!
The funny thing is, I was under the impression that the stock hood was metal, but it appears to be "plastic" Easier to mod!
P.S. your car sounds a little "grumpier" now. LOL.

My vote is for a cut out around the Whipple with a ZR1 style plexiglass bubble so that everyone can witness the sexiness under the hood.

I vote for an extreme composites style hood, 1" cradle spacers, and if you still need some room, fab some custom motor mounts that drop the motor just a tad(but I don't think you will need it)!

I will be home hopefully in about 16 days. Glad the car is sounding different than when I left, means I can get a new PB at the track.

Good that the hood is plastic, that will surely make it easier to modify. I vote on this scoop

The hoods are aluminum, not plastic.

I thought about this too, and also realized you'd have to modify a primary on the headers to clear the steering shaft in addition. Not too bad, but still more work.

And instead of a stick-on/mold on cowl or scoop, I'd probably just cut a hole around the snout of the SC and let that nice little WHIPPLE emblem show.
