05 CTS-V Stereo/Nav Options??
Hello,
I have been reading TONS of online threads about the stereo and nav. However, a lot are from a couple years ago and prior. Is there anything new out there that works with the CTS-V system so I do not loose ANY functionality within the DIC? I am really getting sick of the buttons and crappy nav system!
Thanks!

Replace the buttons like I did and then use a Garmin. They were fairly easy to replace. The Nav is not a very good system in my opinion but if you still want it to look stock the buttons are $8 each. They can be had from Lindsay Cadillac. here is the how to.

Us V owners only wish there was a better alternative!
I seen a write up where a guy took the radio dash out of a regular CTS & made it work to where he had all the user information & was able to put an aftermarket NAV headunit in there.

I just replaced my entire stereo system with aftermarket stuff and couldn't be happier. Everything still works properly. The on thing you lose is personalization/info stuff. I can figure gas mileage the "old fashion way", oil life by mileage or length of time, and if i need to know the outside temp ill watch the weather lol.

Do you have any pics? What kind did you go with? I don't mind giving up a few things. I would miss the trip odometer as I use that for oil life, but the rest isn't a huge deal, the mpg's aren't that accurate anyways and oil life I go by mileage as well.
So really I am more concerned about competitive driving mode and stability control. Do you still know when you turn that on and off etc?

Ill post pics of my install as soon as take some with a decent camera lol. You can see that tc is off (light on gauge cluster). Comp. and (as i call it) drive it like you stole it modes, you have to just get in hold the button and sling the car sideways a few times to see if the car gets pissy!! I went with pioneer 4400 series headunit. I have 2 sets of JL Audio C5 series 6.5" component sets on a jl audio 300/4 slash v2 series amp. 2 small batteries in the spare tire well. Dynamat the entire trunk. I plan on running 1 jl audio 12w7 sub on a jl audio 500/2 slash v2 series amp.
